Two suspects arrested in attack on Metrotaxi in Havana

They stoned a minibus on the road

Two people were arrested in the Havana municipality of Playa after attacking a Metrotaxi vehicle, a Gazelle type, on Route 20, with stones.

The incident caused injuries to the driver and damage to the vehicle. According to reports shared on social media, the police reaction was swift and allowed the alleged perpetrators to be identified and captured.

The driver suffered a head injury

Users who witnessed the attack reported that the driver suffered a blow to the head, causing a fracture. He was taken to Carlos J. Finlay Hospital, where the wound was treated with four stitches.

In addition to the physical damage to the driver, the minibus's windows were partially destroyed, according to images posted online.

The Prosecutor's Office is investigating similar events in Havana.

The Attorney General's Office reported that it is investigating other cases involving similar acts of vandalism, many of which also occurred in the capital.

The alleged suspects have been placed in pretrial detention while evidence is collected and the investigation is concluded.

They will be judged according to the severity of what happened.

The Prosecutor's Office stated that, respecting legal guarantees, it will pursue criminal proceedings before the courts.
