Havana will suffer blackouts this Sunday: these are the affected circuits and schedules

As reported by Havana Electric Company on its official Facebook profile, it will be necessary to reach out to customers in the capital this Sunday.

"Given the generation deficit in the National Electricity System, it is necessary to affect customers in the capital during the following timeframe."

  • Blocks #3 and #4 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm
  • From 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm, block #2 will be affected.
  • At 3:30 pm, it will rotate to block #1, which will be affected until 6:00 pm.

They also clarify that outages may also occur in blocks not associated with the blackout schedule.

The company's Telegram, X, and Facebook accounts remain active with accurate information, as well as 18888 for direct communication with the Call Center operators.

Failure at the Tallapiedra substation

As a result of a power outage at the Tallapiedra substation, power was affected in various areas of the following municipalities: Old Havana, Centro Habana, Plaza, Cerro, and Diez de Octubre. The total loss was 40 MW.

At approximately 12:35 AM local time, power was restored to the 20 affected circuits in the capital as a result of this outage at the Tallapiedra Substation. However, work continues at the site.
