Miami Airport: More cheap flights to Punta Cana with Sky High

Cheap flights from Miami to Punta Cana this New Year's Eve? One of the most popular destinations for U.S. residents, thanks to its comfortable hotels and cheap flights, is the Dominican Republic, especially the resort of Punta Cana. Now, Miami International Airport, the busiest in South Florida, is offering more connections there, through the airline Sky High.

According to magazine Specialized in Arecoa, the air connection between Miami and Punta Cana is strengthened with the start of operations of the airline Sky High Dominicana, which will offer direct flights three times a week: the lunes, Thursdays and Sundays.

The service will operate from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), the Dominican Republic's main tourist destination. Quisqueya's Minister of Tourism, David Collado, attended the inaugural ceremony of this flight, which is already operational, and congratulated the airline for its commitment to the country.

He also announced that the Dominican Republic is close to receiving eight million tourists by air and two million by cruise ship, and that it expects to reach 10 million visitors by the end of December.

Flights from Miami to Punta Cana

For her part, Cesarina Beauchamp, vice president of Sky High Dominicana, stated that "this flight route confirms our commitment to continue connecting the Dominican Republic with North America, South America, Central America, and the rest of the Caribbean." This is how these low-cost flights from Miami to Punta Cana and vice versa were presented. 

In addition to Sky High, there are numerous airlines that fly this popular route between Miami and Punta Cana, a route used by many Cuban-Americans for family vacations.

For example, Spirit Airlines has several direct connections to Punta Cana, with round-trip tickets for just under $200 per person. Southwest and American Airlines also offer flights to this Dominican tourist destination.

American Airlines currently has tickets for $236 round-trip per person. With such affordable options, it's reasonable to say it's the preferred destination for many in South Florida: good, beautiful, and cheap.
