The price of procedures for Spain has changed: the new immigration fees have been published according to the New Regulation. More details will follow immediately. El Official State Bulletin (BOE) published officially the new fees for immigration procedures, according to the New Immigration Regulations which came into force last May 20th 2025, in development of the Royal Decree 1155 / 2024.

According to the new regulation, most applications for immigration must be accompanied by the payment of residence fees, and in certain cases, the payment of work fees is also required, which legitimized subject is the employer or businessman.

Main immigration rates 2025

Below is a summary of some of the most relevant rates:

Temporary residence

  • Non-profit temporary residence: € 10,94

  • Family reunification: € 10,94

  • Residence and employment as an employee or self-employed: € 10,94

  • Renewal or extension of temporary residence: € 16,40

Exceptional circumstances

  • Residence by roots (social, work, family, etc.): € 38,28

  • Others due to exceptional circumstances: € 38,28

  • Women victims of gender violence or trafficking: € 10,94

Cost of other procedures and fees in Spain. Work permits

  • Self-employed, with remuneration <2 SMI: € 203,84

  • Self-employed, ≥2 SMI: € 407,71

  • Renewal of employment: € 81,54

  • Self-employment (initial): € 203,84

Foreigner Identity Card (TIE)

  • First grant (temporary or stay): € 16,08

  • Renewal: € 19,30

  • Long-term residence in the EU: € 21,87

  • Relatives of Spanish citizens: € 12,00

In addition, some specific rates remain exempt, such as those relating to unaccompanied foreign minors, authorizations for medical treatment, or certain humanitarian cases.

Free access is also maintained for Ibero-American, Filipino, Andorran, and Sephardic citizens in certain self-employment procedures or autonomous work as it is known in Spain.

These updates seek simplify immigration management, adapt to the new legal framework and ensure fairer and more efficient treatment of the foreign community in Spain, said the socialist government of Pedro Sánchez in Spain.
