Cimex SA announced changes to its services during the International Workers' Day holiday in Cuba.
On May 1, Cimex stores nationwide will remain closed, resuming normal business hours starting May 2, government sources said.
Cimex service centers, for their part, will operate continuously, 24 hours a day, both days, unlike stores.
Likewise, the food service network will maintain its regular hours, ensuring service to the public.
This measure responds to operational planning for the May 1st holiday in Cuba and is part of the logistical adjustments to guarantee service before, during, and after the date.
Similarly, the Banco de Crédito y Comercio (BANDEC) has informed its customers that on Thursday, May 1st, and Friday, May 2nd, no in-person services will be provided at any of its bank branches nationwide in observance of International Workers' Day.
The bank stated that in-person operations will resume on Saturday, May 3, during regular business hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
BANDEC reminded its customers that its electronic banking channels will remain available during these days.
We recall that Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, through Decree 126/2025 published in the Official Gazette No. 15, declared on May 2, 2025 as a day of paid leave, in recognition of the efforts of the Cuban people in the face of difficult situations.
The provision, signed by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, is based on Article 100 of Law 116, the Labor Code, and is exceptional, applying to the entire country.
Cuban workers will therefore enjoy a well-deserved rest on May 2nd without any loss of pay.
