José Valido, Director of Organizational Communication at Cuban Post Office Business Group, responded this Sunday to several complaints on social media about irregularities (theft, loss, or changes) in international shipments from this entity, always surrounded by controversy.
According to Valido, in a long note on Facebook, in recent weeks, complaints have been published about "alleged irregularities" in international shipments managed by Correos of Cuba.
The accusations would point to theft, loss or changes in the contents of the packages delivered to the recipients, said.
From Correos of Cuba, initially justified by stating that the media that report on these news items frequently "take information officially published by the entity itself and distort it to discredit its work and that of its employees."
According to the executive, during 2024, 212 complaints were registered for international shipments allegedly lost, stolen, or altered. Of these, only 108 were classified as Justly o Partly Right, which represents just a 0,02% of the total 503.232 shipments processed in the year.
In the first quarter of 2025, complaints reached 70, of which 58 were justified, also representing 0,02% of the 242.160 shipments carried out during that period.
Although the percentages are low, Correos de Cuba recognizes the seriousness of each incident, committing to investigate and punish any proven case of malpractice, corruption or crime.
Investigation processes and corrective measures
Valido assured that customer complaints to Correos de Cuba are processed through established procedures that include internal and inter-institutional investigations, which may even involve the Ministry of Interior in the most complex cases.
And when the responsibility of the company's workers is confirmed, they are separated permanently of the postal system and face administrative, judicial and economic consequences, including compensation for affected customers.
Likewise, Correos de Cuba has the Integrated Postal System (SIP), which allows monitoring each stage of the delivery process, from the arrival of the package until its final reception, which allows for the detection of possible irregularities in real time.
The company stressed that the logistics process of international shipments does not depend solely on Correos de Cuba.
He added that foreign and national actors are involved in the management, such as international postal operators, customs, airport and transportation authorities, both in the country of origin and in Cuba.
Correos de Cuba reiterated that there is no impunity in the face of the facts criminals and specified that customers can file complaints through the website www.correos.cu, by phone at 80244644, through the mobile app or by writing to the emails [email protected] y [email protected].

The Aerovaradero Agency has the same problem; they send packages to other provinces, the customer complains, and they don't give a response; on the contrary, they tell lies, as is my case. They have no coordination between them, but customer mistreatment also prevails when a package is claimed that is not theirs, IT IS OURS.
The packages arrive in Granma very quickly. The problem is from Granma to its municipalities. There are packages that have been in Bayamo for more than 15 days to reach Manzanillo. If you need proof, I'll gladly provide it.
It's true that the packages take so long to arrive in Havana. I'm missing things, and to top it all off, I don't know where they put them. They've arrived with holes in the box, and a lot of food items that are for my sick mother have been eaten by mice. They throw them away however they want, and the things inside burst. I don't understand.
Good afternoon, I have a package billed on March 27 to Guantanamo and the one for April was billed last. I need some guidance.
More than two months ago, they sent me a package from Spain and there is still no sign of where it may be. I hope it hasn't been stolen in this country because it is tremendously shameless and abusive that a family member with his sacrifice and work tries to help Cuban families and they keep the shipment. The shamelessness and abuse of this country towards people is too much.
I don't understand why the imports are taking so long. I imported panels and batteries from Panama about three months ago, and they haven't even been received by the Cuban post office, which is where they were imported. Prioritize this, as it's so necessary given the energy crisis we're experiencing.
These are the lives you have to put your heart into.
Correos de Cuba needs to be thoroughly restructured. First, there are excessive delivery delays, lack of control, and most importantly, total impunity for theft. First, they almost never compensate you. Second, if they do, it's at a ridiculously low price that doesn't reflect the cost of shipping. Third, the thieves don't receive their punishment, which is called PRISON.
Impunity and disrespectful vandalism. The shipped boxes disappear, and then no one knows or responds. Not even the parcel carriers abroad can verify or track the packages. They are sent with receipts for dispatch and customs entry, and they disappear, and it's not true that they accept compensation. The customer and the agencies are left completely powerless and without explanation or compensation. Correos de Cuba is not at all reliable.
Even if it's limited, the irregularities in package delivery are discreditable. Publish the bad workers and thieves.
. The % are incorrectly calculated.
The administrator himself says that it is not like that, but he wants to deny and justify that it is not like that.
BD, I think that measures should be taken against all people who have to do with shipments and packages received in this country. I have been one of the victims of lost packages and Correo de Cuba never gave me an answer, it was lost and that was it. It is a lack of respect that they appropriate what is not theirs and that it has cost so much to pay for them to stay HERE in Cuba with it.
My opinion is that Correos de Cuba is the worst in sending and receiving international packages because I once stopped sending with them because the packages sometimes arrived empty or several were lost without a response. Now I have a package in Havana with the address Las Tunas for more than a month and the tracking says it is classified for CCP CAMAGUEY when it is not from Camaguey and for things like that I have no faith in CORREOS DE CUBA.
I have no faith in them at all, packages are lost, they are held indefinitely without reaching their destination, many never arrive, I have one held in Havana for a month heading to Las Tunas and nothing, they send it in the tracking it says towards CCP CAMAGUEY, it is not from Camaguey, it is from Las Tunas
From the country where the packages are sent to Cuba, it only takes between 12 and 24 hours. The problem is when they arrive in Havana, which takes up to 4 months to reach your province.
