The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) announcing a moderate expansion of residential fixed telephony in the province of Villa Clara for this year.

According to Marlén Cortes, head of ETECSA's Commercial Department in the region, around 500 new services will be assigned, concentrated in the municipality of Caibarién, specifically in the Van Troi district.

This measure responds to the lack of technical resources and the saturation of the subscriber network, which limits expansion to other areas.

The local government of Caibarién is expected to receive the necessary facilities this April to begin the process of granting these new landlines.

Regarding landline transfers, ETECSA is seeking to resolve pending requests since 2023.

As a temporary solution, alternative landline telephony (TFA) is being offered, allowing users to access 400 minutes per month for a minimum fee of 20 pesos, with the option to top up once that time is used up.

In addition, since last month, ETECSA has extended the life cycle of mobile lines in Cuba.

Although the 330 days of active use remain the same, users now have an additional 180 days to recharge before their line is canceled, providing greater flexibility for customers.

For more information on ETECSA's services and updates, you can visit its official website.

ETECSA maintains numerous foreign currency offers at its offices for customers on the island. For example, it extended the "super offer" on the Samsung A22 phone and the BT200 STEREN smartwatch until at least May 31.

  1. I live in Mantilla, Arroyo Naranjo, for over a year, they have left me without telephone service, saying that it is the pair, pair that is new as they say, a service granted by the Council of State, for a disabled child in a wheelchair, I have presented myself several times at the Company and it is always the deception and to top it off, another unknown client is the one who is paying for the service without our consent. Someone explain any reason to me

  2. I'm from Yaguajay and I've been here for over a year. I've been requesting an extension of my services. The phone number is in the name of Bekis Ochoa and I still don't have a solution. I need your help and a response.

  3. I work for the commercial offices in Vieja Linda and the house is in Santa Amalia. It has been out of service since November and there is no cable to fix it. It's impossible. The pole is at the entrance to the house and there isn't 10 meters of cable... Is there any way to get new services?

  4. That's good, for that province, but when will the situation of the people who have requested continuity of service in Havana (Cotorro) be resolved? I myself requested it in December 2021 and I am still waiting.

  6. Every home should have a landline telephone. It's not a luxury, it's a necessity. You pay for the service, it's not free, but there's nothing like it here.

  7. Since Hurricane Rafael hit, six families have had their landline phones broken because the cable broke. All of us have reported it, and it's always the same: "cable pending." It's been five months since we last saw it. How long do we have to wait?

  11. Thanks, ETECSA, but one question: I've been waiting for my landline for six years. Last year, they gave me 6 minutes. Could you tell me what's up with this? Client: Mirtha Leonor Martinez Rodriguez

  12. How are they going to assign new assignments when I have been a client for 47 consecutive years without missing payments and on May 14th it will be two years since I exchanged and they say they do not have the resources to provide me with the service. This is in Caibarién Villa Clara. How long will I have to wait?

  13. I live in Cerro, Infanta, in the capital. My daughter's landline has been waiting for repair for months, according to the technicians, and we've already filed several complaints. How do you explain that they're extending service if they have these pending cases? And they even advertise it as an achievement. That's self-deception. It's incomprehensible, it's absurd.

  14. I have been a client for over 20 years in Villa Clara, Sagua la Grande. Since December 20th, I am pending a landline transfer due to a change of address. ETECSA claims it is due to a lack of cards or pairs. Could it be?

  15. Since 2020, I've been waiting for my phone to be transferred. COVID, a major breakdown, a lockout—well, five years of waiting and nothing. I'm tired of going to ETECSA. I hope one day they'll remember that there are customers waiting for them.

  16. New phones, how good are they? They left the ones at my house a year ago without service and they have never installed it again. I consider it disrespectful.

  17. The ETECSA situation is incredible. They changed my plant for some reason or other. Then they said the cables were broken, then the card for some reason was broken, and the phone didn't ring. Then my pair was broken and there was none. Imagine, there are reports of thousands of pairs. The ETECSA director responded. It's been more than a year and I still don't have a phone. No one has responded, but they assign new ones. This isn't logical, and no one can understand it. But we continue in this battle.

    • That seems to be a new move, because the same thing happened to us.
Same. We've had our landline "dead" for a month, and they told us it was the pair, and despite having to pay for the service, we're stuck with the problem indefinitely. Now, the new trend of problems with pairs.

  18. They did a good job, but at least people have more options with their mobile lines. I would also like to know how I can apply for one of those new phones that are now available with minutes.
