The UK government will remove travelers from Cuba from a list of countries where it imposes the strictest health measures, according to several press reports this week. This list is known as the "red list."
By leaving the red list, Cuba could experience an acceleration of British tourism, with the return of airlines such as TUI and British Airways. All of this before the start of the island's peak tourist season, something that thecupgeneration of tourism and European airlines.
Cuba will be removed from the so-called "red list" starting October 11. From that date, eligible, fully vaccinated passengers will be able to enter the United Kingdom, subject to a PCR test upon arrival.
Cuba's removal from the list means fully vaccinated UK tourists can travel to the island, knowing they won't have to quarantine upon their return home.
If you're planning to travel to the UK as a Cuban, there are some rules you should keep in mind. The UK doesn't recognize all vaccines, only some, such as Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer, as well as Moderna and AstraZeneca.
Because Cuba is not among the UK countries with approved proof of vaccination, Cuban travelers will need to take a pre-departure test, a test on day 2 of arrival and day 8, and complete 10 days of self-isolation (with the option of Test to Release on day XNUMX) to travel to the European country.
You'll also need to complete a travel disclosure form 48 hours before your flight, indicating where you've recently traveled. This is because the UK wants to prevent the entry of people who have been to any of the seven Latin American countries that remain on the red list.
The United Kingdom also announced that, starting October 11, 47 countries will be removed from its travel "red list." The list will be reduced to seven destinations (Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela).
