High-level diplomatic officials from Cuba and the United States are returning to the negotiating table today to end the migration crisis that has brought more than 220 Cuban migrants to the northern country for nearly a year. Another XNUMX Cuban rafters have been returned during the same period.

MIGRATION CRISIS BETWEEN CUBA AND THE UNITED STATES
A week ago, a delegation from the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden traveled to the island to negotiate the Cuban migration crisis affecting the northern territory. This was the first round, and starting today, the second round will be held, which will yield more results and obstacles to illegal migration.
Present at the meeting were Under Secretary for Consular Affairs Rena Bitter, Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Ur Jaddou, along with Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossio.
"This is the highest-level public visit by U.S. officials to Cuba during the Biden administration. The visit demonstrates the administration's commitment and work to create pathways for safe and orderly migration throughout the region," a U.S. government spokesperson said.
