Cubana de Aviación only allows tickets to be purchased in USD: customers report a "problem"

The official website of the local airline Cubana de Aviación only allows tickets (including domestic flights) to be purchased in USD (US dollars), and customers reporting the "problem" have yet to receive an official response.

Several users have expressed their dissatisfaction on social networks due to the difficulties in purchasing tickets in national currency (CUP) through the site website official Cubana de Aviacion.

According to several complaints on the company's Telegram channel, this lunes, the page shows flight availability only when the payment option in US dollars (USD) is selected, while when trying to make the purchase in CUP (Cuban peso), the system does not offer available options for any date.

"Have they already dollarized flights too?", questioned an Internet user, reflecting the feeling of many customers who claim they cannot book domestic tickets in local currency, as has been promoted by official media such as cubadebate and the airline's channels on Telegram and Facebook.

"I've been trying to book a Havana/Holguín ticket for July for several days and it only shows availability in USD," said another user, adding that even when checking flights until October 20, no option appears available in CUP (Cuban pesos).

Cubana Aviación tickets in USD: computer problems?

Although some users explained, to help, how to change the default currency on the site — by clicking on the option that shows “Currency (USD)” and selecting CUP on the menu—, the main complaint is that Flights do not appear available when choosing to pay in national currency, while they are when selecting the USD.

"Why do flights on the Cubana website only appear in USD, in CUP "They don't appear? Have they already dollarized the flights too?" another user asked.

Given this situation, those affected requested an urgent review of Cubana de Aviación's online reservation system to determine if it was a computer problem on the website, which currently only allows ticket purchases in USD.

So far there is no one clear response from the company, since this limitation contradicts its usual policy of allowing purchases in national currency for domestic flights.
