According to channel state-owned Venevisión News, the measure aims to boost tourism and position Cuba as a key destination in the Caribbean, especially among Venezuelan travelers.

Evelyn Guilarte, representative of the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba In Venezuela, this increase in frequencies is part of the multi-destination project promoted by the ALBA countries and other long-distance nations such as China and Russia.

Although Russia, according to official information, stopped flying at the end of this month, via Conviasa from Moscow to Caracas with a stopover in Havana.

"The objective is to promote greater tourist flow between both countries, which will increase the number of visitors to both Cuba and Venezuela," Guilarte said during the official presentation of the 43rd edition of FitCuba. 2025, which will be held from April 30 to May 3 in Havana.

The official also highlighted the importance of Cuba's internal connections, which will allow travelers to enjoy multiple destinations in a single vacation.

According to the note, FitCuba 2025 It expects the participation of 2.700 accredited participants from more than 60 countries and will focus on sustainable tourism and local traditions, promoting Cuba as an innovative destination committed to sustainable development, although this sector is currently experiencing a crisis on the island.

Although flights between Cuba and Venezuela will increase starting in May, numerous connections beyond Caracas remain in operation this month, including flights to Valencia and Margarita Island, the latter ideal for Cuban shopping, with visa-free options when purchasing tour packages.
