ETECSA reports a fire affecting services in the Cuban capital.

The Cuban Telecommunications Company SA (ETECSA) reported a fire that occurred at the intersection of 120th and 49th Streets, in the municipality of Marianao, Havana, this Friday, which caused severe damage to the telecommunications infrastructure and services of this entity.

The accident, according to a report in networks, specifically affected the 1Q technical cabinet, which was completely destroyed, leaving more than 400 customers in the area without landline telephone service.

At the time of writing, the cause of the fire was being investigated, while ETECSA technical brigades were mobilized with resources and specialized personnel to restore the affected services as quickly as possible.

"I keep saying that until they take action and enforce the law firmly, all of this will continue. They've burned all the garbage dumps, they're throwing stones at buses, and now this, the only thing that's affecting them is the people, who have less and less every day," commented one user about the fire that left several ETECSA customers in the Cuban capital without important service.

"My God, I hope they can fix this soon and that the cause isn't the vandalism that's been happening everywhere lately," another user commented.

ETECSA: Fire affects services in Havana

In this regard, ETECSA executives have repeatedly reported that vandalism across the country is affecting their technologies, from thefts to fires, and, in turn, their services, not only in the capital but throughout the island.

"The law is unequivocal. Acts of vandalism are reprehensible in any society," another user insisted, referring to the incident that has temporarily left several customers of Cuba's only telecommunications company without landlines.

On more than one occasion, Telecommunications authorities in Cuba attribute the deterioration in the quality of telephone and mobile network service, the use of illegal equipment, social indiscipline, and acts of vandalism, all within a context marked by strong economic and financial tensions in the state.

  1. The Cuban regime is clearly incapable of stopping crime, the kind that makes people think they're doing their criminal acts for political reasons. And they are disgusting criminals who want to destroy everything that helps the human beings who live in this country. They are not with communism, as they stupidly claim. Rather, they are workers struggling to make ends meet for themselves and their families, simple people who haven't been able to steal to earn money, nor have they received money to catch a plane and leave, as so many others do.
Until they catch this scoundrel and talk to them, this won't go away.
Do you know why?! Because who wants to really fight!! doesn't steal! doesn't commit crimes!!
