Deadline: Spanish Consulate in Cuba offers these aids to citizens

The Spanish Consulate in Cuba announced the deadline for applications for aid from its Spanish citizens in vulnerable situations on the island. More details and forms are below. Until June 17 2025, Consulate General of Spain in Havana will be receiving applications for subsistence aid corresponding to the year 2025They can also be requested at the Vice Consulates in the provinces.

This assistance, although It is delivered in Cuban pesos, represents important financial support for Spanish citizens living on the island who are in vulnerable situations. The measure seeks to alleviate the difficult situation faced by those without sufficient resources to support themselves amid an economic crisis with no end in sight.

To qualify for this support, applicants must have Spanish nationality, be registered in the Consular Registry and not receive any other aid from the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security or from Spanish Autonomous Communities, according to the official requirements. 

It is also required that they be under 18 years of age, over 65, or people between 18 and 65 years of age who are incapacitated for work. The aid cannot be granted to more than one member of the same household or to those who exceed the established minimum annual income.

Applications will be submitted exclusively in person, with no option for representatives or mail submissions.

Assistance to citizens at the Spanish Consulate in Cuba

In Havana, the documentation will be delivered from theuneApplications must be submitted on Fridays between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., and must be extended until 12:00 p.m. on the last day of the application period. Applications may also be submitted at the Honorary Vice Consulates of Spain in Camagüey, Santa Clara, and Santiago de Cuba.

Applicants must submit several mandatory documents, including application forms, income statements, photocopies of their ID and ration book, among others. If they receive family support, this must be properly documented.

Those who cannot sign must go to a notary to have their fingerprints registered.

Additionally, a mobile phone number is requested to facilitate SMS communication during the process. Medical or documentary proof will be required for household members of working age who do not earn an income.

The announcement comes amid high demand for Consulate services, where thousands of people have been waiting for over a year for the credentials needed for procedures related to the Democratic Memory Law or the Grandchildren Law.
