Ministry of the Interior reports confiscations of vessels off Cuban coasts

Authorities from the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) reported through official media the seizure of several vessels off the Cuban coast. More details will be provided immediately.

In compliance with the provisions of the FOURTH resolution of Resolution No. 1/2015 of the Minister of the Interior of Cuba, related to the procedures for the confiscation of vessels found in the aquatic spaces of the Republic, reported regarding the seizure of two jet skis without a name or official registration.

According to Resolution No. 06/2025, broadcast on April 21, 2025 by the Head of the National Department of Harbor Masters, a was confiscated black and yellow jet ski with number FL3058TC.

This vessel, of fiberglass, length 3.20 m, beam 1.10 m and depth 0.60 m, equipped with a 4-cylinder YAMAHA stationary engine, was found on April 26, 2024 in the area of The Royal Bank Broken, Municipality of New, province of Camaguey.

Likewise, through the Resolution No. 07/2025, with the same date of issue, another was seized vessel without name or registration, white, also of fiberglass, with a length of 5.00 m, a beam of 1.90 m and a depth of 0.60 m.

This one had a YAMAHA outboard motor of 60 HP and was found on December 12, 2024 in the area of Los Negros Estuary, Municipality of Emerald, province of Camagüey.

Confiscations and discoveries of Cuban vessels

Citizens affected by these resolutions may submit written complaints before him Head of the Directorate of Border Guard Troops, within a period of 20 calendar days from the official publication in a national circulation newspaper.

At the end of April, the Cuban Ministry of the Interior's (Minint) Border Guard Troops reported on the discovery of two unidentified vessels at different locations off the north coast of Cuba, at a point near the province of Matanzas.

According to the report, the first vessel was found on December 21, 2024, in the area known as Canal de los Barcos, Martí municipality. It was a white plastic-hulled boat, 3 meters long, 1.50 meters wide, and 0.40 meters deep.

The second discovery of boats in Cuba by border guards occurred on January 24, 2025 in the vicinity of the Hotel Sireny Tropic, in the municipality of Cárdenas, in the resort of Varadero.
