Cuba improves its position in the world passport rankings, but mobility remains limited. This is how the Cuban passport and visa-free countries for Cubans are ranked in May. 2025.
In May 2025, Cuba's passport rose two places in the world power ranking, according to the specialized website Passport index ranking 66th in power, a slight improvement over the 68th position recorded in February of this year.
Despite this progress, Cubans still face significant travel restrictions, with visa-free access to only 29 countries. The same ones that were announced last FebruaryThe improvement in the global passport ranking would indicate the facilities launched by China in access to visas in recent months.
According to the Global Mobility Index, the Cuban passport maintains a modest score. In addition to the 29 countries that allow visa-free entry, 46 countries offer visas on arrival, and another three allow entry with electronic authorization (eTA).
However, most of the most sought-after destinations—such as the United States, Canada, the European Union, and much of Asia—continue to require a visa for Cuban citizens, significantly limiting their freedom of movement.

This increase in the ranking represents a global reach of 38%, a percentage still low compared to countries with more powerful passports, such as Singapore, Japan, South Korea, or Spain, whose citizens can travel visa-free to more than 190 destinations.
Despite the limitations, the slight improvement reflects changes in the migration policies of some countries, such as China and in recent bilateral agreements, but the reality of the Cuban passport in May 2025 and visa-free entry remains the same.
Currently, Cuban citizens can enter a total of 29 countries without a visa, simply by presenting their valid passport.
These destinations are spread across different regions of the world, and although many are not among the most popular in terms of tourism or economics, they represent a real travel option for those who wish to avoid complex or costly immigration processes.
On the other hand, some nations have facilitated access through electronic visa (eVisa) systems, allowing Cubans to apply for entry permits online, simplifying the process without completely eliminating barriers.

My personal comment, I hope that when my country Cuba 🇨🇺 is free of communism and that Marco Rubio is the president of Cuba 🇨🇺 and that Cuba recupits economy, allied with the world's leading power, the USA, and returns tocuperase tourism and everything that Fidel Castro and the Castro communist leadership stole. I HOPE that European countries that do not blister Spain so that Cubans do not require a visa to enter the European continent maintain their position. Because we are not going to make it so easy for them to enter our beloved and beloved island. Since there are few countries that have understood our hand, especially the United States of America. Calm exists, maybe it is not today, it will not be tomorrow, but my country is going to become very rich, because we Cubans are hard-working, and we share the little we have without looking at who needs it. Beautiful Cuba, land of tobacco and rum, where our heart ❤️ is sweet like the juice of our cane. Where the aroma of tobacco draws you to our culture, tasting a mojito, which takes you to the limit of dancing a good casino or a good salsa, with the opportunity to try grilled meat with yucca and pork rinds. Homeland and Life, freedom for Cuba
We Cubans should have more opportunities to travel to many more countries. This is why we emigrate from other countries to another because they don't give us any opportunities.
The government should give the people freedom to travel to more countries and support Cubans in parental work, as Muslim countries do in Russia, which says Muslims are worth more than Cubans in the Russian nation.

It's clear they're an agency serving Cuba's bloody and destructive Castro-Communist dictatorship. Liars and manipulators.
