No e-visa required if traveling to Cuba on direct flights, clarifies Tourism

Authorities from the Ministry of Tourism offered clarification to travelers from their main source country. Canadians traveling to Cuba do not need an electronic visa if they fly direct, according to this official information. More details to follow immediately.

The Cuban Ministry of Tourism issued a clarification in networks social networks aimed at Canadian citizens planning to travel to the island on direct connections to the country's various tourist destinations such as Cayo Coco, Varadero, Cayo Santa María, Havana or Holguín, on airlines such as Air Canada, Sunwing, among others.

According to the official statement published on its Facebook page, travelers arriving in Cuba in direct flights from Canada They do not need to manage one electronic visa for Cuba, since this is found included in the price of the plane ticket.

Tourists will only need to complete the digital entry form to Cuba available on the official website www.dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu, at least one week before your arrival.

After filling it out, you will receive a unit’s QR code which they must show when boarding their flight. This process is completely free and does not require a credit card or any other payment.

The Ministry also warned travelers about the existence of unofficial websites that pretend to be government websites. These may have similar URLs, but are not valid to carry out the official procedure and can generate confusion or scams.

Electronic visa to Cuba and Cuban passport for residents of Canada and other countries

According to the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, for those traveling to Cuba from other countries or with stopovers, it will be necessary to previously manage the electronic visa to Cuba in www.evisacuba.cu.

After completing the process, you will receive a 10 character code which must also be entered when filling out the form on the D'Viajeros portal.
