According to an internal State Department cable, citizens of countries such as Angola, Ethiopia, Egypt, Nigeria, Syria, Uganda, Ghana and Zimbabwe could face a total or partial suspension of entry to the United States if they do not meet certain requirements within the next 60 days.

Full list of countries at risk of new immigration restrictions: Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Dominica, Ethiopia, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, South Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Earlier this month, Trump signed a proclamation banning the entry of citizens from Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Haiti, Eritrea, and other countries.

In addition, partial restrictions were imposed on people from Cuba, Venezuela, Togo, and Turkmenistan, among others.

The State Department justified these measures based on security concerns. These include the issuance of unreliable identification documents, the lack of cooperation with the U.S. in repatriating deported citizens, and possible links to terrorism or ideologies considered hostile to the United States.
