Authorities in the Cuban capital addressed the electrical disruptions caused by Tropical Storm Laura, which, while not causing major damage as it passed through the western part of the country, did cause power outages in some areas of the capital.
According to information released at the latest meeting of the Havana Provincial Defense Council, the storm disrupted 182 electrical circuits, and 58 of them remain pending restoration.
It was also reported that work is currently underway to address the disruption to the gas and water supply due to electrical outages, as well as to remove fallen trees from roads and power lines.

Although Laura did not directly affect the Cuban capital, many city residents have complained in recent hours about the prolonged power outage, with the infrastructure apparently being most damaged by the storm.
According to the president of the Capital's Defense Council, Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, the priority right now is to restore electricity to those families who currently lack it.
In Havana, 32 homes have been partially damaged, while government companies and agencies are assessing the damage and impacts caused by the storm that left the country on Tuesday and entered the Gulf of Mexico.

It is also strongly requested in Batabano Mayabeque that sick elderly people with problems spoil the little food that one solves
We're aware of the damage Laura has caused, but it's been very difficult to obtain the refrigerated food we've managed to obtain despite waiting in lines, only for it to spoil due to the power outage. We're urging everyone to expedite the repair of the electrical circuits.
