The U.S. Embassy in Cuba warns that time is running out to apply for a visa and scholarship in the United States.

The United States Embassy in Havana recalled this luneThere are only three days left to apply for the YLAI 2026 scholarship program, one of the most recognized initiatives for young entrepreneurs on the continent.

The deadline is Thursday, May 15, at 11:59 p.m. ET. The call is open to entrepreneurs with innovative ideas who want to enhance their leadership skills and network with stakeholders in the U.S. economic ecosystem.

Last briefing before closing

For those who have not yet started their application or have questions, the embassy confirmed a final Q&A session scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., also Eastern Time. The event will feature program alumni, who will share their experiences and advice on strengthening applications.

What is the YLAI program?

The Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) is a U.S. Department of State initiative that seeks to strengthen the capacities of young entrepreneurs in the region by facilitating their participation in a multi-week exchange program with U.S. companies and organizations.

Fellows gain access to mentorship, specialized training, and a strong professional network. Many of those selected have expanded their businesses or implemented more sustainable models after completing the program.
