The Embassy of the United Mexican States in Havana has just announced to those interested in obtaining a visa appointment that the well-known Mexitel system will be enabled next month. Friday September 20 of this year 2019, and it will be possible to schedule the corresponding appointments to the weeks between the day October 16 and 31 of the year 2019 itself. Those interested will be able to access their appointments approximately at 9:30 a.m., Havana time.
However, the note from the aforementioned consular office makes it clear that this time the opening of appointments will only be granted for those visa applications with the permission of the National Migration Institute (i.e. for PROCEDURES WITH NUT) and for the legalization of documents.
It has also been made clear that the opening date for visa application appointments without permission from the National Migration Institute (PROCEDURES WITHOUT NUT) will be announced at any time, but always before September 24th of this year, 2019.
The note also refers to the recently implemented electronic confirmation system, known as a token, which aims to strengthen security standards and ensure strict organization in scheduling appointments for Cuban applicants.
"Selecting the day and time of your appointment without entering your confirmation information does not guarantee your appointment will be scheduled," the Mexican embassy in Cuba said in a statement.
In its notice, the consular office recommends that interested parties access their email inbox before accessing the Mexitel portal, as information about a link will be sent to the email address provided to obtain the requested appointment. This link must be validated before completing the process, and failing to open the email beforehand may prove to be a difficult task.
Likewise, applicants should ensure that all personal information provided when scheduling their appointment is completely identical to that shown in their passport. This information is particularly important, such as their full name and surname, including any accents or tildes, as otherwise, the embassy could cancel their appointment.
"Mexitel is making ongoing efforts to meet the high demand for visa applications. To this end, a certain number of appointments are made available to users every two weeks, based on the material and human resources available at the Mexican Embassy in Cuba," the Mexican Embassy in Cuba clarifies.
However, he regretted to report that due to some adjustments made to the staffing table at this Consular Office, the number of appointments granted to Cuban applicants will be slightly lower than usual, a situation that will remain in place until further notice.
The Mexican embassy concluded by requesting the kind understanding of interested Cubans, especially those who are unable to schedule an appointment for their interview in the coming days.
Today, there is great tension among Cubans interested in obtaining an entry visa to the United Mexican States, a situation that many unscrupulous individuals take advantage of, and today the informal price to obtain one of these appointments is around 1600. CUC.
Directorio Cubano shares the vision of the Mexican Embassy and jointly subscribes that:
“Getting appointments is free. Report anyone who offers to schedule an appointment in exchange for money or any other benefit.”
