This measure is part of a strategy to increase tax revenue and address the country's difficult economic situation.

However, others believe it could be a useful tool for redistributing resources and ensuring essential services such as health and education.

The government also plans to conduct more frequent inspections to ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Penalties for those who fail to comply with tax obligations will include fines and operational restrictions.

The impact of this measure will depend on how the collection mechanisms are implemented and the degree of acceptance by taxpayers.

  1. They are not easy, the high discounts they currently have are not enough, they want more, where has it been seen that a normal worker who lives sweating his shirt has to give 50 percent to some lazy people like you who do nothing for us, I do not speak for the sake of speaking, I speak for myself that every month I suffer this, I am a bricklayer and I live year after year working like a dog in the sun to give average food to my 2 little children and at the end of the month I have to give you 20 or 30 percent, that is not enough, you want half of the salary, what you do is not to fix anything, but those of us who remain in this country have to pay for those who have already been able to get out of this hell and then you talk about the people, you are the ones who make the people want to end your revolution, excuse me if I offend anyone but it is my truth

  2. May God bless the Cuban people abundantly and work to eliminate all those so-called wise men who fail to make a decision for society. Leaders, open your eyes and examine yourselves, and you will discover the problem of the current economy.

  4. In what country in the world is 50% of the profit contributed? It is necessary that the millionaires at the top be imposed these tariffs, no one touches them because their thing is to IMPORT AND sell, it is with the people, the entrepreneurs!!! UNTIL WHEN!!!!

  5. I consider it disrespectful to the worker who strives, works, undertakes to develop his economy and in turn the country's economy, that this 50% tax, TO MAKE UP THE EXISTING FISCAL DEFICIT IN THE COUNTRY, instead of looking for STRATEGIES so that those who do not work today do so and contribute!!! It is STEPPING AND STEPPING ON THOSE WHO WORK, THAT IS WHY THIS COUNTRY DOES NOT ADVANCE.

  6. The most affected will be the population because the taxes that private individuals have to pay are always charged to the people in the prices. They must analyze carefully before implementing it.

  7. A country with poor management, no exchange controls, a disaster, always seeking to punish the successful, those who dare, and encourage those who go to the left or grow through the black market, who are far more numerous than entrepreneurs because it includes leaders from the top down, custodians of 95% of those who manage public resources.

  8. Let's say it works, and those affected accept it. What remains to be seen is: Will these taxes really help resolve the situation in public health and education, among others?
We are actually self-financing our own needs,

  9. I think they didn't stop to do the calculations first before wanting to implement that measure, taking into account that personal income is tax withheld from the worker's salary, where in the end the most affected will always be the worker, I think it's a crazy idea that ultimately translates into more price fluctuations and more dissatisfaction among the population.

  10. The measures adopted are very good, but I ask myself where the store is, a warehouse that sells the supplies that each self-employed worker needs, and as a mother, buy from the black market or resellers and then pay 50 percent of a job. I who only work for state entities, what do I do?

  11. It's another coercive tool that, instead of promoting economic development, actually hinders it and nullifies it. I'd like to know if the brains behind such a decree are thinking about the Cuban people who barely survive or about maintaining an inefficient, almost obsolete structure.

  12. A very good measure. The salary of the majority of Cubans is between 3000 and 5000 pesos. No deduction is applied to these. The taxes are primarily for workers and executives of companies and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) who earn high salaries.

  13. The new scale established by Article 65 of Law 174 states:

“Natural persons obliged to pay the Personal Income Tax, artists and intellectuals, journalists, social communicators, designers and self-employed workers, those who obtain gratuities by working in branches of foreign commercial firms, representative offices of banks, non-banking financial companies and other representations of foreign entities accredited in the country, including press agencies, diplomatic headquarters and representations of international organizations, apply as tax rate for the liquidation and annual payment of this tax, for the income obtained in the year 2024, the following progressive scale expressed in CUP"

You see nothing to do with it...a piece of advice, get better information.

  15. It seems that what was supposed to happen in the domestic market is coming, since the price increase has already begun before the eyes of municipal authorities. Take a tour of the markets and you will see everything from tomatoes at 700 cupor the pound of lettuce 250 etc etc etc…..

  16. They're taxing personal income, people who work or start businesses. They need to tax consumption, because not everyone works, but everyone consumes. For example, VAT in Spain.

  17. The issue isn't taxes; they exist everywhere. And if they're progressive, even better. The PROBLEM is that it won't be possible to know where they end up. Because a ONE-PARTY government has no counterpart. It has no criticism. Consequently, it doesn't improve and becomes corrupt. Therefore, for there to be DEMOCRACY, it's necessary not only to be able to vote, but also to have DIFFERENT PROPOSALS from DIFFERENT SOURCES. Only a MULTIPARTY SYSTEM can guarantee that.
There's more, but that's enough. In any case, that's my opinion.
    Thanks for the news.

  18. I don't know how economic thinking is done in this country, but every time it's projected, it's against development. Economic controls have been in place for more than four centuries, and yet in this country, no solid progress has been made simply because we don't learn from the more developed, because we're different, because we're unique. Damn, plan to eliminate so many unproductive people, so many indirect employees, so many administrative staff, so much parasitic structure, so many people dependent on the state budget. Balance things out and don't mess with the non-state sector. The state sector pays less for everything and wants to keep inflationary costs low, without productive support. It's time to stop fearing unemployment by imposing absurd measures against those who produce. The salaries of Education and Health are unjustifiable when there are so many unproductive people outside the classroom or consulting room who have nothing to contribute. Balance the other state departments, whether governmental or non-governmental, administrative, and/or social. Reduce expenses, and we'll be more capable.

  19. That half of personal income goes back into the budget?
If my price after deductions can't be raised by 30%, that means I'd be left with a 15% profit at the end of the process. The other 15% would cover the budget deficit of trillions of pesos.
Why isn't work in state-owned industries encouraged by recapitalizing them again? Ah! The people would be burdened with resources, and that wouldn't be good. It's better to discourage individual development.

  20. If until now they have not been squeezing when you pay 15% of your income, what will happen now? If we have to pay 50%, we cannot continue working, there is no other alternative than to abandon the businesses and emigrate. This system does not give any more.

  21. The "Cuban government" is the exact representation of a group of blindfolded teenagers throwing stones left and right. What have we Cubans done to this world to deserve such inept people?

  22. the income brackets as a taxable base for each percentage to be applied affects everyone, much more those with low incomes, the contributions are directly proportional to the amount of gross income, the workers are the most affected, the entrepreneurs have the magic to solve the problem, you know that they pay for the dividends, then what they increase in tax, they increase it looking for more profits and to do so they do not reduce costs and expenses, they increase the price of the products that. ende

    Reply
    • Correct, I totally agree, since I'm going to give you half of what I earn with everything I have to pay... That's so that people close their businesses and more people are left without work... And the country DOESN'T PROSPER... THAT IS, "MORE MISERY"...

      Reply
  23. But if there is no need to pay taxes, the inspectors' staff only inspect those who have a license, and the majority of unlicensed people prevail and are not bothered, why should we pay taxes?

    Reply
  24. Of course, the greatest impact of this measure will be on the population: the self-employed will continue to raise the prices of their products or services and continue to evade paying taxes.

    Reply
  25. This measure is completely misguided if these taxes are borne by workers! And devastating if they are borne by businesses! A fiscal deficit cannot be covered at the expense of the nascent labor and economic market that is proliferating in Cuba.
