Information from the Ministry of National Statistics and Census (MINCIN) on the distribution of basic food baskets in Cuba

The note, distributed through various official channels, details the distribution schedule and provides updates on the status of various products.

The Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN) updated this Wednesday the distribution status of products corresponding to the Standardized Family Basket, with emphasis on the months of March and April. The report confirms delays in several essential items, especially in the eastern and southern municipalities of the Cuban capital.

March products not yet completed

The rice, which should reach 7 pounds per consumer, began its delivery with 5 pounds in the municipalities of Regla, Habana del Este, and San Miguel del Padrón, while the rest of the territories are still pending.

As for peas (30 ounces), corresponding to March, April and May, they are being distributed in San Miguel, Plaza, Cerro and Guanabacoa, while the other municipalities have already completed their delivery.

Regarding the half-liter oil, its completion is only pending in San Miguel and Habana del Este, as it has already been delivered to the other municipalities.

April distribution partially advances

As of April, sugar (2 pounds per consumer) is still being distributed in San Miguel, Boyeros, and Cotorro, while it remains pending in Habana del Este, 10 de Octubre, and Guanabacoa. The rest of Havana has already received its corresponding quota.

The baby food (14 units per child aged 0 to 2 years and 11 months) is currently being distributed in Habana del Este and 10 de Octubre, while it is pending in Guanabacoa, Boyeros, Arroyo Naranjo, Cotorro, Plaza, Centro Habana, Old Havana, and Cerro.

In the case of black beans (10 ounces per consumer), they are being distributed in Habana del Este and Cerro; the rest of the municipalities have completed delivery.

Distribution of milk and products for pregnant women and special diets

The distribution of powdered milk for different age groups and medical needs is already underway:

  • Children from 0 to 1 year and 20 days: 2nd and 3rd decade of April - 2400 grams

  • Children 1 to 2 years and 20 days: 2nd and 3rd decade — 2140 grams

  • Children 2 to 6 years: 1st ten — 1000 grams of milk with maltodextrin

  • Pregnant women: 1500 grams of whole milk powder for April

  • Special diets: Distribution began according to medical diet for the month of April.

The delivery of 30 quail eggs per pregnant woman also continues, according to local authorities from the Ministry of the Interior (MINCIN).

Although some products are already in the final stages of delivery, others remain pending in several municipalities, reflecting a still-irregular situation. The distribution of the basic food basket, vital for thousands of Cuban families, continues to be a process marked by delays and a lack of uniformity across territories.

  1. Good afternoon to all
I appreciate your post, but I'll tell you that in my municipality this year they have not distributed any oil, they say they distributed it in Pinar del Rio, but none has arrived here, I wish you a nice afternoon and a very happy evening depending on where you are my 👋

  2. Everything in Havana has arrived, but due to the delay, the grocers have become opportunistic with the products. We have already lost the habit of buying at the grocery store.

  3. All this brings social problems, families must be more humane because the people are going hungry, miserable, retired workers are worse off every day, salaries are not enough to buy food, then when they remember we exist, how ugly everything is.

  4. For all these reasons, a product comes today, another when the devil feels like it. We have so much misery and we give way to opportunists. The miprime raise prices every day, and what can we say about a state worker, a retiree, who eats once a month.

  5. I am chronically ill and they haven't given me the diet for three months, so they won't give it to us anymore, we need it the same as any pregnant woman.

  6. The peas they delivered in April were riddled with weevils.
It is very unpleasant that, given the difficult food situation in the country, the little that is delivered is in these conditions.
Remember that there is an aging population with very few resources that still have to consume it.

  7. I'm from Havana. Nothing complete fits in my warehouse. Well, that's what the warehouseman says. People are always left without food. Everything runs out in the blink of an eye.

  8. There is no equality for all children. Why do children in the capital get 14 compotes and those in the municipalities and other provinces get 7? What is the difference? All children are equal and donated milk has to be for all children?

  9. This town is already tired, we know that the blockade is doing us a lot of harm, but the pensioners are dying of hunger. There are those who have families and they are more or less helped, but there are those who do not.
What is 1 lb of rice? Are they out of gas?
Without electricity and the peas are hard and have weevils because they are old.
Thank you my God for so much misery

  10. It's disrespectful to refer only to Havana without considering the rest of the country, which hasn't received anything for months. For example, 1 lb of rice in March and nothing more. When are they going to ignore the real Cuba? And don't even mention the 20-hour blackout in Camagüey and only 4 hours in Havana. We pay with stress, anxiety, and spoiled food, all due to the consumption of the spoiled and pampered "capital citizens."

  11. Camaguey and its municipalities are not Cuban, and if they are, it is the back part of the country. Some of the elderly are remembered, while the rest are forgotten about the checkbook of those elderly people. No one mentions a word.

  12. It seems that the only children aged 1-6 who have the right to breakfast are those from Havana, because in Ciego de Ávila they are not even given sugar to drink with water. It seems that these are not Cubans. The distribution in Havana is nothing like what they give in the other provinces, and as for kerosene from the warehouse, what can I say? The only thing that matters is liquefied gas, as if the entire population had access to it. In any case, no one analyzes these comments or gives an answer, but at least one person is going to read it. Many thanks to the person who has to read it so as not to publish it.

Well, everything... (in quotes) one question? Why so much Havana? Havana? And the rest? They are just the municipalities of Havana. Municipalities of Havana... Until when? And the other provinces?

  14. I wish they would report on Santiago de Cuba so they could see that they are giving away 1 pound of rice here. We think there is too much oil to distribute just one pound of rice, and in two or three days what is missing is a waste of fuel for nothing.

  15. What's happening with the basic shopping basket products in Piloto that haven't been shipped since March and April, such as grains, rice, sugar, and oil in San Miguel del Padrón?

  17. How barbaric! While the rest of the country receives half a pound of oil, when they receive it in Havana they give them half a liter as if they were from another planet.

  18. Why. Nothing else is said about Havana and the other provinces
Please respect yourself. How do the rest of us get information if you don't even mention us? We are Cubans, not Havana residents.
