Cuba: A date has been set for an "improvement" in the sale of basic food bread.

After several days of unstable service, production of standard bread for the basic family basket is expected to resume this Sunday. This was reported today by the Sierra Maestra newspaper.

According to food sector authorities, production will resume gradually, depending on the availability of electricity. Therefore, distribution may vary by region.

The situation arose from technical failures at the Frank País mill and a shortage of raw materials. This affected the production of flour needed to make standardized bread, according to Jorge Luis Arce Ferrer, provincial director of the Food Company in Santiago de Cuba.

  1. They keep contradicting themselves. The bread production at the winery will be stabilized and will depend on the availability of electricity. So we're still stuck here. There's no stability or availability here.

    • It is true that the bread is useless, it does not have the weight it should have, it was 80 grams, but it no longer has even 20 grams and many are missing in the state bakeries due to corruption and the diversion of raw materials and the illegal sales of bread from said bakery here in Ciego de Ávila. The bread is horrible. Thank you very much for your attention. Best regards.

  2. The problem is that none of the fat leaders of this hell eat bread from the bakery and the inspectors don't see anything when they fill the backpack.

  3. Everything is affected, even dying is a problem. Everything is going badly and there is no hope of improvement because the measures, decisions, and hopes they have given do not resolve any of the problems affecting the majority. For some, the important thing is to preserve their way of life, even though the majority needs results that are not forthcoming.

  5. Good afternoon, I just read all the comments. It's true that most of the time the bread doesn't have the quality it deserves, but it's a shame how many people offend bakers without realizing the sacrifice they have to make because instead of being scammers, they're outright thieves, etc. They should be called "Magicians." Because in addition to all that, they're people who also have families and they have to earn a living to feed them, just like many of those who offended bakers in their comments. Unless they have family abroad and are living off them as parasites, I won't continue writing so as not to offend anyone and put myself on the same level as those in the previous comments. Oh, and I am a baker. Thanks.

  6. For guidance from the administrators who are the most corrupt and whose information corresponds to their interests, they sell flour, oil, and sludge and send workers home and who doesn't know that, their bosses also take what's theirs.

    • The bread is a disaster there is total corruption from the bakery the one that sells the bread in the panera the inspectors who go to a bakery to pass inspection for the quality of the bread and the weight of the bread that is a C anos snack and the administrator gives him a good amount of money and there remains the entire inspection 50000 pesos and the thing remains the same and the people suffer the consequences of this entire corrupt chain and nobody says anything not even the leaders who have to do with it do anything it is necessary to control the problem of the bakeries more closely because it is a mafia that exists around all of this We hope for positive responses in this regard

  7. That will be in other provinces. Camaguey, in the past month, has been paved more than 10 times in our bakery. Right now, there hasn't been any bread for four days.

  8. Let's start by saying that the photo shown in the comment is not the bread sold to the people. Neither is the quality, much less the weight, with savings, stealing, and diverting flour to individuals. Bread for the people has never been of quality, and the lack of flour competes with the poor quality in all state services.

  9. It's still a disgrace, sour or raw... completely poorly made and of any size. In short, we've been saying for 60 years that bread, when it's available now, isn't good enough even if you toast it.

  10. I can't say anything but words: the people are screwed, we've reached where we had to go, every day we have more and more misery and a people dying of hunger, and what a Cuban earns is not enough for anything.

  11. In Cienfuegos, we have bakeries that sell bread that looks like it's been discharged from a hospital, with severe anemia. It seems like they don't use the ingredients they use. Well, everything else has been said in the previous comments. Who doesn't know what's going on? This is a widespread situation. This is a piece of gum.

  12. In Cienfuegos, there are some bakeries whose bread seems to be anemic; it's white and lacks the ingredients it contains. That's something else to blame. But here, everything is known, and everything is justified.

  13. Dissatisfied user:
The so-called bread, from what I see, is a nationwide problem. I live in the province of Ciego de Avila, in the municipality of Ciro Redondo. Here too, the bread, when it comes, is miniature, half-baked, and not to mention the price. When it was larger, it was cheaper; now it's a mini-loaf, and it's more expensive. And the inspectors? They should delve deeper into the bakeries and see what the person who's paid a salary for quality control is doing. And that's just talking about bread, but there are so many things wrong that I couldn't possibly describe everything here...

  14. It's all a lie, because they say that and they spend 8-0 more days without giving the blessed bread that doesn't meet the established weight, it's always below, and no measures are taken to sanction any corrupt administrator, because they are accomplices.

In zones 9, 10, 11 Alamar, Habana del Este, Havana City, Better to leave it there!!!

  16. The regulated bread is the same, it is bought with the same thing because it is the sustenance of the hungry and the scammers who make it continue to steal the flour, the oil and the yeast to resell it and look at the poorly paid salaries to watch over that, the administrator, control and quality master and for fun the 60 gram bread comes out super low in weight 30 and 35 grams go to the Las Americas bakery in Marianao and see it with your own eyes and what happens? They constantly make fun of consumers. Check the complete address starting with La Ubia

  17. It's a shame that these things can't be foreseen, that poor bread is being received by our lower-income people. We've been dragging this inefficiency for years, and today, faced with such a critical situation, no alternative solutions are being offered, and those who pay are the poor. This isn't about lowering the banner of continuity; it's about raising the banner of social justice for which we've fought so hard.

  18. Hello, good afternoon. Well, I would like to tell you that there is no flour to make our beloved daily bread. Why do people on bicycles sell them for 250 pesos for 8 loaves of bread and there is no regulation for the population? I think you should do something about it. Thank you very much.

  19. To tell the truth, I don't know which bakery makes that bread. That photo is from an archive, possibly from a bakery in the Siboney neighborhood or another residential area. In my neighborhood, we haven't eaten bread in years. We do eat some, but not exactly bread.

  20. Does anyone know what a baker's salary is? I'll tell you, it's 2300. If they don't sell the flour and oil, how will they live? You just have to pay them the salary corresponding to their effort and problem solved. Oh, and I'm not a baker.

  21. As for the quality of the bread, it is always underweight, at 75 cents, but almost all consumers leave the change of the peso, so the person who sells earns an extra salary. 4 days without flour, but for dollars, flour is sold with the Cuban flag that we are talking about. They do not think about the children who have nothing for breakfast. The bakers put their bread on sale in the streets at exorbitant prices, nobody sees anything. It is better that the bakeries be private, that way we will have quality through competition and stability because nothing will come from the government.

  22. Good morning, in Guanabacoa, the bread is getting worse and worse. You bring it small and the next day it is even smaller. That means it doesn't have the required quality. My son eats all three. What a shame.

  23. comment on the bread!
Very strong! When for some reason I have to give it to my grandchildren, I have no words to express how I feel. I don't know how there is flour for bread on the free market and none for standard flour. The weight and quality of the bread, I have no words either. We can't complain to any authority, because there is no solution.
    Conclusions:
Sadness, helplessness, pain, quite a bit of anger!

  25. There are many problems that depend on the problems that exist in the country but the biggest problem is in many bakeries are causing breakups in the bakeries and are selling flour clandestinely at a cost of $1000 pesos per jar. And all this is in complicity with the administrators and warehouse managers is a lack of respect to the people and the local government is the only one that does not realize is the first corrupt. Not everything is blockade the biggest blockade is the internal one.

    • According to your reflections, they are absolutely clear, so the state must finally realize that when we are able to clear the internal blockade in our country, our economy will improve.

  26. Bread has been missing for the past three days, and no media outlet has explained the reason for this shortage. It should be noted that the "Dignidad Panadera" bakery in Marianao sells bread to the public in the same area, along with products such as flavorings, descaling agents, and other products that shouldn't be sold in a bakery. However, the bread now weighs less than 60 grams and is of poor quality.

  27. Nobody understands anything because the bakery managers don't give explanations, not even to the saleswomen at the distribution points, and consumers spend hours waiting to see if it arrives or not. The bread is garbage and doesn't even weigh enough, but there are many resellers on the streets.

  28. There's no flour for the people's bread because individuals give us very expensive bread, and Pixsas cost $150 and $200 for tiny bread. Where do they get the flour for $75, and they don't lack it until when they're going to live with the abuses?

  30. I've been hearing about the poor quality of bread for 25 years, and it hasn't improved; on the contrary, it's simply not bread, and it proves that the Food Industry and the Ministry of Food cannot resolve the situation. Will we have to bring in foreigners? I don't think I remember the good quality of the period from 1964 to 1980. Please, no more excuses.

  31. But until when will we continue to talk about everyone's bread, which everyone sees, which everyone eats and which all those who can do for the miserable, swindled, unexpected, coarse and more bread from the ration book remain silent and every day our bakers and administrators make it lighter in weight, without salt, without fat and with flavors and smells of its mother...

  32. Bread leaves much to be desired throughout the country, bread in name only, in Gtmo on the street it costs 35 pesos a ball and 140 a flauta, which is sold by individuals who buy the jar of flour for 1200 pesos, the same as in the bakeries, so, WHO BELLS THE CAT?

  33. I don't see anything out of this world about the bread because here at the modern Arroyo Naranjo parceling warehouse the bread when it's made in the bakery comes out burnt with a stench cucAracha, there is no one to eat it and it is of poor quality and it does not have the weight that it should have. The administrator has been told many times and the administrator does absolutely nothing, for me that they are not adding the oil nor are they adding what it really has. They should have done that and made an infection and not sent the inspector because the inspector is doing it for fun. We do not agree with the weight that it has. It is the bread that used to come as a birthday snack and they charge you a peso for that payment, so I am leaving this to see if this problem is solved.
