As previously stated, Cuba will open to tourists and international travelers starting November 15th. PCR tests at the country's airports will be eliminated, and other measures in place to contain the pandemic will be relaxed.

For those arriving on flights to Cuba starting November 7, or one week in advance, several days of institutional isolation or quarantine will no longer be mandatory. They will now be able to meet directly with their families or loved ones after several months of waiting.

There are quite a few people who these days do their accounts, decide to buy airline tickets, and even book hotels in Varadero Cayo Coco.

But, considering the high prices of the dollar and the euro on the country's streets, it's much more convenient to make these reservations in local currency from offices within the island.

Please note that, although official exchange rates are much lower, both currencies are sold at exorbitant prices on the informal market, depending on the city in question or the quantity being purchased.

  1. But that is nothing new, before the salary was 200 to 400 Cuban pesos, 10 to 20 cuc monthly and a day in a hotel costs you 50 CUC
The lack of respect and discrimination against the Cuban people began on January 1, 1959.

  2. Good morning, it seems to me that those are not prices for the Cuban people. We assume that to go to a hotel you must save your monthly salary to be able to pay because I myself earn 3400 pesos, it is not even enough for one night. Don't you realize that every day they squeeze us more? Please think about it and look at the workers' salaries and also the children have to pay half and high. We need you to value those high prices.

  3. Hahaha. It's notebook after notebook. Suppose the productive people of this country want to save all year so they can't even stay three miserable days in one of our hotels, according to you. Sometimes I'd like to believe it! But it's harder to believe than impossible. No more. Keep finishing off your own extinction. No one will remember you. Before taking further measures, at least think a little. I still think you live in one Cuba and we live in a very different one. Enjoy your moment.

  4. What they did was change the cuc by MLC that the people never see or will see progress? BECAUSE THEY PAY IN NATIONAL CURRENCY AND THE WAGES ARE VERY, VERY LOW FOR THOSE PRICES

  5. What a lack of respect for the people. If before there were many people who could not afford to pay for a hotel, now even less. What worker can afford a vacation? More than $30000 for two people, and if there are more than two in the family, how much does it all cost? In short, these offers are not designed with the people in mind, since our salaries are not even enough to eat.

  6. These prices were to be expected. Here in Cuba the monetary dualism continues, what happens is that now the peso is accompanied by the MLC (USD) Don't be fooled. Then you have to multiply the peso by USD, and right now, if you pay by card, you have to buy something for 80. Draw your own conclusions. But I'll tell you something: you'll never be able to stay in a hotel on your salary.

  7. It's impossible to travel to Cuba, even with the pandemic, and before you almost went to jail for not wearing a mask. Now that you have the virus, you're almost better treated, and it's not just the prices; it's the quality of service in Cuba, which is second to none, and then the treatment, except for the keys, is terrible. If I want the Caribbean, I'll go to Mexico or the Dominican Republic...

  8. Everything is for two people, and children can't go. What is the price per age? It's good to clarify that as well. Please reply to this page, and we'll all be clear.

  9. My God, what is that? It's disrespectful, the prices mean you can't even go on vacation to a hotel in our country. And for those who say it's a fair price so that a Cuban can earn a salary from the Cuban state, who has to maintain a house, have children, and have to eat. And with the prices these days, you need a year or more to earn that money to be able to go to the cheapest hotel.

  10. I understand that these hotels are impossible for the average worker to afford, but for those who find the price high, I can tell you that far from being so, they're practically giving you the hotels for free. Those who can afford to go should do so now. Hotels are businesses, and no business is created to operate at a loss. Here are some facts. The minimum wage a company can pay right now is 2500.cupA hotel like this has more than 200 workers, both permanent and contracted. Even if they paid everyone the minimum wage, they would have to pay 500. cup in salary. A cubic meter of water costs 11cup, if you exceed the plan by 20% it is 33cup And above 20, they charge you 66. Just think how many cubic meters the pool takes up, and don't even mention what the guest spends on the room. The electric company lowered the price for the population, but not for the companies... there's no electricity subsidy for tourism, and no guest turns off their air conditioning to save the hotel a few pesos. On top of that, you have to pay for the merchandise; almost all of it has a portion that's paid for in the MLC Just like almost all the services the hotel must contract. 1kg of pork costs more than 180 cup And domestic clients aren't satisfied with just one or two steaks. You also have to pay the rent for the building, because that belongs to the real estate agency, not the hotel chain... and if I continue, I'll spend all night doing the math. It's impossible to lower hotel prices any further.

  11. Cubans must work to develop the country... not to enjoy tourist centers... the centers are reserved for foreigners as before...
    It's called discrimination..
    Cuban, don't you understand?
    Hardheaded!!!

  12. I think they've gone crazy now, that's crazy. If the current prices, which I see are clear, don't even provide enough to eat, how do you save money that way? Someone tell me a way because I don't see one.

  13. That's crazy, it's even blackmail to put those prices on Cubans who work and maintain a house with the current prices, and I see that they are informed, can go to one of those hotels with such ridiculous prices. That will be precisely so that they don't leave.

  14. If this information is true, I hope you reflect. I have faith that it was all a farce, because after so much talk about high prices, constitutional rights, and many other things... NO, it's still unbelievable.

  15. Reading the offer, you can see that it comes from a ministry humbly represented by the current Cuban prime minister. The prices are very humble, from a very humble government for a very humble people. Enjoy the offers... humbly.

  16. What a huge lack of respect for us ordinary Cubans! Seriously, the one who set those prices thinks that with today's wages and the prices of things on the street, Cubans can pay that amount of money for two or three nights in a hotel. Hahaha, let me laugh so I don't cry.

  17. An ordinary Cuban will not be able to enjoy our country's wonderful hotels, neither in this life nor in the next, until prices rise. Those of us who fight for this also need to enjoy these privileges.

  18. Wow???, a Cuban with his salary it is impossible to go, I wonder where is the equality??? Someone tell me, I don't understand anything, I'm shocked

  19. I think those involved in this should review their prices and offers. Those prices are too high, even for those who send remittances. Please review them so we Cubans can enjoy the things we have in our country, not just foreigners. With the pandemic lasting so long, we don't deserve these prices. Please check your offers.

  21. Very interesting. I have a 2-month-old daughter and I want to take her to a 5-star hotel for her 15th birthday. I think I'm already late to start saving. I'd like some answers on how a worker who earns 2200 a month can go to one of these places?

  22. Look at the hardworking Cubans, those of us who live off our honest labor. We don't steal from others to become rich or have luxurious homes, but we always defend this tooth and nail. We will never enjoy these million-dollar opportunities. Please think of these people who live sustained by our convictions and whom we respect (so respect us).

  24. I don't know if these prices are true, but if so, it's not for Cuban workers with the state, it's for foreigners and people with relatives abroad, but not for the common Cuban worker or people with a high income. The rest of us, like me, the majority, neither had nor have nor will have the opportunity, there's no place in Varadero to enjoy ourselves. We have to think about other things, such as food, which is fundamentally not enough.

  27. That's not true. I went to a tourist office and saw the prices. These are paid in Cuban national currency at the current exchange rate: 1 USD x 25 MN. You have the option to pay in mlc or in MN, but I repeat at the exchange rate in force by the Central Bank of Cuba.

  28. Oh my God, are those really the prices of some of the hotels? I'll think I'm dreaming because if I've never been there, I'll never be able to go now, let alone take my kids. How sad, really.

  29. And this huge madness, who are these exorbitant prices for? This must be a miscalculation or a joke. We workers can't handle this. If it's true, rectify it, you still have time.

  30. The Cuban government believes that a Cuban citizen can go to some of these hotels with such super prices. How old must they be? They're speechless with this Cuban government. May God forgive them because they're going to need it.

  31. But what about those prices? What's the salary? And to think we've been in a very difficult situation for a year and a half, maybe even a little longer, and now these prices... I'll be in Dubai? We'll be stopping in psychiatry...

  35. This is the new Dubai. Poor Cubans can't even go to hotels now. It's disrespectful. They value some things at 25 per USD, and others at what it's like on the black market.

  36. I don't understand why they value my dollar and euro at the supposed informal market value and not at the one set by the government. If I don't actually get paid in either of those currencies, are they promoting informality?

  37. It's a tremendous lack of respect. Once again, measures are being taken that will never benefit the people. It's just that the situation is very difficult, and foreigners have to work hard to help their families.
