Only four provinces will have gas cylinder supplies: They are waiting for the arrival of a ship.

Access to cooking gas remains restricted in much of the country. Distribution only temporarily covers a central area.

Waiting for the liquefied gas tanker

CUPET The company confirmed that it is ready to unload a new shipment of imported liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), but the start of distribution still depends on full payment for the shipment. Once the outstanding amount is settled, they assure us that delivery can begin within a maximum of 48 hours.

Nearly 100 power plants shut down due to fuel shortages in Cuba

Meanwhile, only four provinces have access to fuel. They are the closest to the Cienfuegos refinery, where production has resumed after maintenance work.

Cienfuegos, the distribution center

The Cienfuegos refinery returned to LPG production thanks to repairs carried out by Cuban technicians. In just one month, they managed to rehabilitate the pumping systems, hydrogen compressors, and other key areas. Due to difficulties in hiring foreign personnel, local specialists took over the work after purchasing new equipment.

Currently, gas is distributed in cylinders and tanker trucks to Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus, and Ciego de Ávila. There, the filling plant operates continuously every day of the week, with the aim of ensuring supply in that region of the country.

A promise of stability that has not yet reached everyone

Directors of CUPET They assure that there is sufficient crude oil backup to maintain LPG production for the coming weeks. However, domestic distribution remains a challenge due to limited logistical infrastructure and financial problems that hamper fuel imports.

The population in the rest of the country continues to face prolonged gas outages. Added to this are the blackouts, which in some areas exceed 20 hours a day, worsening living conditions in Cuban homes.

Digital payment with discount, but not for everyone

Since March 6, those who pay for LPG through the Transfermóvil or Enzona apps have received a 2% discount. The measure aims to encourage digital payments due to the lack of cash and promote banking integration, driven by the government.

With the discount, for example, a 10 kg ball that costs 180 pesos is reduced to 176.4 CUP If paid electronically, the discount is automatically reflected on the card.

In addition, Transfermóvil now allows you to manage appointments using the "MiTurno" module, which sends you the date and time for gas pickup via SMS. This feature aims to avoid crowding and better organize distribution.

Criticisms of the imposed digital model

However, the digital system excludes many. It requires an updated Android phone, something not everyone has. Older adults and those living in precarious conditions are particularly affected. Those without an appointment will not be served, leaving a vulnerable segment of the population out in the midst of an unprecedented energy crisis.

  1. Of course it's better to notify the person by cell phone so that a mess doesn't arise. Some people who don't have a cell phone should have the government provide responsible and serious personnel for this, and they should belong to the gas company, as there are quite a few unemployed people.

  2. They should just give us the gas, that's what they should do... my God... and especially my province, Matanzas, which I think is the worst in all.

    • The lack of respect for the people is so great that I am speechless in my comment, and I apologize for the massacres, but in Santiago we have electricity for 3 hours during the day and 4 in the morning, and there is not only no gas, no food, and shame on us, it's better that they sell us.

  3. Until when this is not a comment, they want to know that they don't know, finish solving the problems of the population and if not, better than anyone, they know what they should do, stop deceiving yourself.

  4. I'm already too much, everyone is making fun of the good things and we are having a hard time until the kids eat around 9 at night because you don't have gas and when you get home from work they cut off the electricity until 8 or whenever they feel like it, then those who work and come home to make food cut off the electricity until wheeeeeeeeee

  5. It's always the same topic, the financial crisis.
If our Commander were alive, no one would leave this country with an entourage while we were in such economic conditions. You can count the trips our old leaders made abroad; everything was managed from within. Today they live on the road, and we see no improvement.

  6. In addition, workers from CUPET While there was no gas they had access to the service while it was not sold to the population because there was none, but the worst thing is that the friends of the directors, in addition to those of the PCC And the People's Power would pick up theirs whenever they needed it. There's also the situation that it's a war against the couriers, but the illegal couriers can buy whatever they want, daily and sometimes several times a day. Some even have workers who go to them to get some of the bullets.

  7. I am a messenger from Ciego de Avila and for a year now, in addition to the shortage, we have been forced to raise prices for providing our service because Cupet The availability of bullets has been decreasing for us. Before it stopped, we could only buy a bullet whenever it was our turn in our messenger line, and now we can't even buy that. They don't want to sell to us, thus increasing the shortage, which raises prices and makes it so that only the wealthiest can access a service that had prices that almost all workers could pay. CUPET They ignore us and flatter us

    • I don't know about such a dramatic shortage; we're in the village and we can't see the houses. For a long time we complained about not having internet. They said we couldn't learn and take advantage of the knowledge that's published. Now we have it, and all we see is a social network called Facebook that publishes gossip and intellectual underdevelopment. Google has published how to make a very simple homemade biodigester; you don't need many resources. From containers as small as 10L to volumes of more than... speechless, the 10L ones are simple and very manageable.

  8. And Havana, how long will we continue without the gas cylinder? Here too, the blackouts are intense and not everyone has an electric stove and coal is very expensive, and the accidents in the apartments are not to be mentioned.

  9. having digitalization is not bad but to call for order because it is impossible to get gas between messengers, queues, businesses and commitments, even the same district delegates enter the bartering, in the end it is impossible to get gas and those who work have to spend days to get it in case they reach, I am talking about municipalities that are seriously in all social areas where vulnerability is heavenly, low cultural level, etc., in this case I am talking about Arroyo Naranjo, Poey point of 1st and D street, since October I have not gotten gas, the luck is that it is a nucleus of one person, and what does not go with electricity, digitalization is good for me because I go at the precise moment.
Another approach was being considered for gas, they only worked on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 11 in the morning, a point that has more than hundreds of cores and then there were no forms therefore they are stopped, my question if they do not have the conditions to execute a job why do they start it is there already a list for when the forms come this gives rise to the seller of shifts, we must put a stop to the messengers a limit of balls for each shipment of gas and recognized messenger not just any, to call more or less an order and supervise these points surprisingly the best would be through personnel from other municipalities, because personnel from the same municipality all know each other because they live within the same one, we must call a control, and encourage electronic payment

  10. It's great that they can have that service, but what about the other provinces?
Will we return to the Lower Paleolithic era?
For God's sake, do something for the people, we can't do it anymore.

  11. Sir, until when, with blackouts, almost no water, and still no gas, they want us to hang ourselves, we can no longer live in this country, everything is blah blah blah, a lot of entrepreneurship and I don't see the progress.
