From now on, all scheduled appointments can be attended without major inconveniences, marking a return to normal in the provision of consular services.

In this regard, the consulate has announced that appointments that could not be made on October 18, 21, and 22 will be rescheduled for the coming days.

This announcement has been welcomed by many citizens who, in recent weeks, have seen their business transactions interrupted due to the energy problems affecting the island.

The situation had generated uncertainty among those who had appointments scheduled on these dates, especially for essential procedures such as legalizations, marriages, and procedures related to the Democratic Memory Law (LMD).

In fact, several users have expressed their frustration in the comments on the consulate's post. Some complain that, although appointments are resuming, there are still significant delays in certain procedures, such as those related to the LMD.

"The appointments are going very well, but they're issuing marriage certificates and legalizations. Why aren't they moving forward with the LMD, which is so behind the times?" was one of the comments left by citizens. Other comments also called for more agile processes and a solution to the delay, which, according to them, has gone on for too long.

However, they warned that further changes to appointment scheduling could occur if the situation deteriorates further. Therefore, they recommended that users monitor the consulate's official channels for updates.

However, users are still waiting for the most delayed procedures to be expedited, especially those related to nationality and the Democratic Memory Law, which many citizens consider a priority.

  1. I'd like to know what's happening with appointments for visas for family members from the European Union. I've been trying, but I haven't been able to get an appointment for a long time. How is it possible that individuals can obtain and even sell them, yet Spanish citizens in dire need can't get an appointment?
    My warmest regards.

  2. The energy situation in the case of Cuba must be considered and be more flexible with the time to present since it not only affects the Spanish Consulate in Havana Cuba but also all Civil Registries in Cuba and the Legalizations in the MINREX and other procedures of the LMD or Law 20/2022. Finally, consideration and flexibility must be taken with respect to the period of time with Cuba each its disadvantageous situation in relation to the rest of the countries.
