Yesterday, some applicants commented that the update allowed for processing of applications submitted through March 2024. However, confusion persists among those trying to navigate the new system, who feel abandoned by the lack of clear information.

Several people celebrated obtaining their Spanish nationality. "I'm now Spanish. I applied on March 7th, and with the update, I was able to confirm that I was approved," said one user, expressing her relief after a long process.

However, others encountered difficulties when trying to access the platform. "I've been trying to check all afternoon and I'm getting an error. Nothing comes up for me; it goes blank when I enter the file number," commented another user. There is currently no official confirmation, creating a climate of anxiety among those waiting for news about their procedures.

Appointments under Law 36 for minors

According to several testimonies, those waiting for appointments under Law 36 for Minors face additional complications. This October 25th, some appointments were mysteriously scheduled, according to several testimonies, without the interested parties having access to the platform to verify them.

Users were surprised to see appointments scheduled through the old system, which should no longer be operational, appearing. "Are the administrators of the page and the Consulate innocent?" asked one of those affected.

Appointments are reportedly scheduled until the end of November for this specific process. News of this situation has generated a stir on social media, with applicants calling for transparency and better communication from the Consulate. Others go further, claiming that appointments are being sold.

Credentials for December

Another topic of discussion revolves around the credentials needed to obtain appointments. Some claim these are intended for applicants in December 2023. This adds further tension to the already complicated process faced by Cubans seeking Spanish citizenship under the Democratic Memory Law, commonly known as the grandchildren's law.

Amid this situation, Cubans hope the difficulties will be resolved and that the promised updates will meet the expectations of those seeking a new life in Spain.

  1. My children have been waiting for the volume and folio for 6 months and my other son has been waiting for credentials for 7 months and nothing. I wonder why it takes so long?

  2. Good afternoon, my husband and son are waiting for their credentials, they are from May 2024. I see a lot of slowness in this regard.
    My question is.
When will they speed up the credentials?

  3. Credentials are a serious problem for descendants, but no one does anything to expedite them. Before, credentials were issued in a month. I don't know why they take so long now.

  4. b afternoons, if at each stage the consulate sends you the email attached with the appointment for the next step, even if you had to pay for it the process would be more transparent and simpler and there would be no people profiting from the lack of knowledge of many

  5. This process is truly frustrating no matter how you look at it. I, who have always been an advocate, so to speak, know how cumbersome it is for officials to process so many requests. But we also need to put an end to the bureaucracy, the slowness, the endless delays; in other words, psychological torture, I'd call it that. It is vitally important that this process be respected. There is no clear, convincing explanation given as to why this delay exists. Also, at one point they removed documents that were requested at the beginning of this process, and over time, suppliers realized that they were unnecessary, that all they did was delay the process further. For example, now I do not understand why it is necessary to present a PDF to request credentials, when I, as the granddaughter of a Spaniard, in fact still lives, and my father is opting for his Spanish citizenship to be approved, he presented everything in the PDF since February 2024 and these are the hours that neither his nor mine arrive. Now, in case my father's credentials arrive, he shows up for the appointment and I with him under his protection and fill out Annex 7, that is where I do not understand what need there is to be asking for credentials if for my father's protection it is already vast, I think. because time is running out and there is no hope for many of us who have been waiting for a long time. The same happens with our older and younger children who ask for credentials again, appointments, in short, an endless number of unnecessary documents because only the one who starts the process, in this case my father, must request credentials, putting in the PDF all the documents that prove that he is a descendant of this Spaniard, already wait for his credentials there I can understand, but now why. I also have to wait for credentials. In the end, it's almost the same. In fact, even less. They should accept presenting the children without needing credentials. They should simply provide proof of the required documentation on the day of the father's appointment. This file is left for review. This way, the process would be faster and more logical.

  6. Good afternoon, I am waiting for volume and folio and I have not received an answer either... Why has it been so difficult for this law 20/22 to obtain Spanish citizenship when the majority of our parents have been Spanish citizens for 12 years with law 36 and we are still waiting, how much longer will our children have to wait now because in this new law they as minors do not benefit, they have to do the same paperwork from the beginning, how difficult, something that could have been much easier and more practical for everyone... Thank you

  8. Good afternoon, I would like more transparency in the credential delivery process. I would like to know when the documents have been reviewed, those that have been approved, and please, when will those pending be available in December 2023? Regards.

  9. I am an adult, a family member from the EU, with the capacity to enter the system where I have my credentials. Since April, I have been trying to request an appointment for a C family visa (I always entered the page without difficulty and if I wanted to change the appointment I could do so, now I urgently need to travel and every day it tells me: there are no available times... I made new credentials because I have actually been a client for years and it doesn't work either, my friends tell me that I have to "pay" a processor, I don't understand that term because that section does not appear on any of the Consulate's pages.
