The Swedish Embassy in Havana represents the Swedish government in Cuba. This diplomatic mission works with the Cuban government in a wide range of areas and is also responsible for providing consular support to Swedish citizens visiting, or temporarily or permanently residing in Cuba. It is also responsible for processing visa applications for Cuban citizens traveling to that Scandinavian nation.

Cuban citizens require a Schengen visa to travel to Sweden, as well as to other Scandinavian countries such as Finland, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, and Iceland. The Schengen visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days.

The Diplomatic Office specifies that to submit a visa application, an appointment must be made in advance, using the email address: [email protected]Only 10 applications are received per day.

Regarding the Schengen visa for travel from Cuba to Sweden, which is processed by that country's headquarters on the island, Cuban citizens should be aware that:

The cost of processing the Visa application is the equivalent of 60 euros in freely convertible currency. CUCThis amount is nonrefundable and must be paid in cash at the time of applying for a Visa. 

Minors between the ages of 0 and 5 who apply for a visa are exempt from paying the processing fee and are not required to appear at the Embassy.

Likewise, minors up to 12 years of age are exempt from the obligation to appear at the Embassy. However, minors between the ages of 6 and 12 must pay for the visa process.

The Swedish Embassy reserves the right to decide whether or not to grant a visa. This visa is non-extendable.

The issuance of a visa does not guarantee entry into that country. At the border, Swedish immigration authorities have full authority to deny entry.
