Italy has started registrations for the program Back to Italy 2025, an initiative designed to facilitate the employment of foreigners in various industries.
Starting in late December 2024, the program's official portal will allow applicants to upload their professional information and apply for job openings nationwide.
How does the program work?
Back to Italy seeks to connect international candidates with Italian employers, filling labor needs in key sectors. Applicants must meet criteria that evaluate their experience and skills, although the final hiring process depends on the participating companies. This program also offers guidance to those without Italian citizenship, facilitating the necessary procedures for legal employment.
Essential steps for those without Italian citizenship
Those interested without Italian citizenship must meet a series of requirements before being able to work in the country:
- Obtain the Italian tax code.
- Demonstrate residency as a descendant of Italians.
- Start the recognition of Italian citizenship.
- Apply for a stay permit (Permesso di soggiorno).
- Validate the process with the local municipality (Comune).
Once these steps are completed, applicants will be authorized to work legally while they work toward obtaining citizenship.
Most in-demand job areas and trades
The program includes positions in multiple industrial sectors and skilled trades. Among the most sought-after positions are:
- Electricians, plumbers, gas fitters, welders and carpenters.
- Truck and bus drivers.
- Machine operators, maintenance technicians, mechanical designers and engineers.
Additionally, industries such as machinery manufacturing, metal products, plastics, rubber, wood, and leather are prioritized. Trades such as lathe operators, TIG and MIG welders, and automation technicians are in high demand.
How to apply?
The official registration form is available on the Back to Italy website: https://www.back2italy.com/es#aplicarApplicants must complete their information, include their career preferences, and attach an interactive CV with the required certifications.
