The payment has already been approved and will begin to be issued in the coming weeks to those who meet certain requirements established by the authorities.

The measure comes at a time of economic pressure for many families across the country, who are facing sustained increases in food, fuel, and housing costs.

The amount includes a fixed portion and an additional energy-related bonus, which has raised expectations among low-income groups.

Those who met the established conditions and had pending applications with the "eligible but not paid" status as of May 7 will see the money deposited on the 15th. A second group will receive it in June, with an eligibility deadline of the 11th of that month.

What is this stimulus about?

The check is part of the state's Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) program, funded by revenues from Alaska's natural resources, particularly oil. Although this is a targeted initiative, its impact reaches more than 600,000 people each year and has become a vital source of economic support.

Key requirements

To qualify for the benefit, you must have resided in the same state for the entire period of 2024 with the intention of remaining. You must also have been present in the state for at least 72 consecutive hours in 2023 or 2024, and provide proof of absences exceeding 180 days.

Other requirements include:

  • Not having been convicted of serious crimes in 2024.

  • Have submitted the application before March 31.

  • Each household member, including minors, must complete their own form.

It's also noted that having an out-of-state driver's license with a REAL ID may jeopardize eligibility, even if other criteria are met.
