Miami woman accused of trying to set fire to a van and assault a police officer

A Miami woman is facing a slew of charges after Miami-Dade police accused her of trying to set another woman's SUV on fire and kicking an officer in the groin multiple times while she was being arrested.

The Miami-Dade Police Department dispatched an officer just before 3 a.m. on theuneto the Dadeland South Metrorail Station, located at 9150 S. Dadeland Boulevard, after receiving a call about a violent dispute between two women.

According to police, a woman, identified as Miranda Ehren Graham, 46, lit a cigarette and placed it in the gas tank of another woman's Dodge Ram pickup truck at a nearby Shell station.

Minutes after that incident, authorities said, they received another 911 call reporting that a woman dressed in black, matching Graham's description, attempted to enter a nearby liquor store by kicking down the door.

Upon arrival, police said an officer located Graham and asked for identification, at which point she fled on foot west toward the busway.

After asking Graham to stop running away, the officer took her to the ground to place her in handcuffs.

As they attempted to detain Graham, she began kicking and punching the officer several times in the groin area, the arrest report said.

He faces multiple charges.

Police said that after struggling to get Graham into handcuffs, they eventually took her to the police vehicle and placed her in the back seat with leg restraints.

Investigators said Graham was not injured during the incident and was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where she is being held on $21,000 bail.

Jail records show he faces multiple charges, including three counts of assaulting a police or correctional officer, two counts of resisting an officer with violence, one count of resisting arrest without violence, and criminal mischief.
