President Donald Trump signed an executive order this Saturday that marks a radical new shift in the country's immigration policy. The document, titled "Project Home," authorizes an unprecedented nationwide operation to detain and deport undocumented immigrants in every state.

The measure includes the immediate deployment of more than 20,000 additional agents, including retired personnel from federal agencies, state police, and even private contractors. These officers will be added to the detention efforts in residential areas, workplaces, transportation terminals, and border crossings.

“Illegal immigrants must make a choice: leave voluntarily with the assistance of the government, or stay and face the consequences,” Trump declared during the signing of the order. Under the new plan, migrants without status will be able to opt for voluntary departure, funded by federal funds, through the CBP Home app. In addition to free passage, they will be offered a departure bonus of up to $1,000.

But those who decide to remain in the country without documentation will face severe penalties. The order includes immediate deportation, prosecution, imprisonment, fines, wage garnishment, and the possible confiscation of personal property such as homes and vehicles.

The White House justifies this offensive by arguing that irregular migration represents an "invasion" that has led to insecurity, vagrancy, and excessive government spending. The government estimates that services for undocumented immigrants cost more than $150 billion annually, including education, healthcare, housing, and justice.

Civil rights groups and migrant organizations have reacted with concern.cupation, warning of the risk of mass raids and racial profiling. Several states with high immigrant populations, such as California, Texas, and Florida, are already preparing for a new wave of arrests.

The announcement marks the most severe tightening of the country's immigration policy in decades. Although the government defends the measure as a way to "restore order and alleviate public spending," experts anticipate a considerable human impact, especially among families with children born in the United States.
