Typically, during these times, most establishments remain closed, providing only vital services to the population, such as medical services, transportation, first aid, tourism, and the private sector.

1 January: Liberation Day – Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

2 January: Victory Day – Celebration of the victory over the Batista government.

18 April: Good Friday

April 15-19: (School break week in Cuba): Victoria de Girón*

1 May: International Workers Day

25 July: Commemoration of the assault on the Moncada Barracks

26 July: National Rebellion Day

27 July: Commemoration of the assault on Moncada – Since it is a Sunday holiday, it is moved to theunes.

10 October: Independence Day (Beginning of the War of Independence from Spain)

11 October: Independence Day Celebration

25 December: Christmas Day (Christmas Eve)

31 December: End of the year's party

It's important for you to know that when national commemoration days fall on a Sunday, they are carried over to the next day and are paid as if you had worked that day, according to your payment method. Double payments are not permitted.

If national commemoration days and holidays fall on a Saturday, no transfer is made, and the labor and salary treatment established for these days is applied in accordance with the approved work and rest regime.

Furthermore, it should be noted that Article 96 of Law 116 of the Labor Code states that certain national and national holidays may be designated as working days due to social interest or force majeure, subject to an agreement between the employer and the relevant trade union.

*During the school recess week, all work activities in the country remain active.
