Shock and sadness rocked the Matanzas community after the discovery this Wednesday of the lifeless body of an 8-year-old boy who disappeared last Saturday, April 5, on the beach of Villa Los Pinos, located in Boca de Camarioca, Matanzas province.
The minor, originally from the municipality of Limonar, was found on the beach near 54th Street in Varadero after more than 72 hours of intense searching. The rescue operation included specialized rescue teams, border guard officers, local fishermen, and numerous neighbors who volunteered to join the efforts to locate the child.
As reported the local state pressThe boy disappeared while enjoying a day at the beach with his 20-year-old older brother and other family members. In a moment of distraction, the child ended up in the water alone with a girl, without direct adult supervision. Shortly after, he disappeared from view, and the agonizing search began.
Initial hypotheses suggested that the child could have been swept away by a sea current or lost among the uneven seabed characteristic of that area. Unfortunately, these assumptions were confirmed by the tragic outcome.
The provincial broadcaster expressed: "We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. May they find the strength to cope with this painful loss."
The news was also shared by the official profile Karlos C Roble, who stated on social media: “The sad news grieves the soul of any person. Death is never expected. Unfortunately, the currents did their thing and usurped the infant's existence.”
For its part, the page “Athena Matanzas"He had reported hours earlier that the search efforts were continuing actively, generating hope in the community, which poured out its solidarity to collaborate.
