Thus it transcends in a noticia from the local radio station, which ensures that the standardized family basket for the months of March and April is reaching commercial units throughout the territory.

The business group's Director of Commerce, José Ramírez Aguiar, stated that the 7 pounds of rice corresponding to March and 2 pounds of sugar for April are currently being delivered. He also noted that the peas were distributed in advance last month, "thus covering the April allocation," according to the statement.

Ramírez Aguiar also confirmed that the cleaning products, including liquid detergent intended for the municipality of Sancti Spíritus, are being delivered according to the rotation system.

In addition, households will receive bath and laundry soap through the "Libreta" (Booklet), according to the composition of each group, and two bars of laundry soap for households with children under two years old.

The state media outlet notes that "the arrival of these products to the province's retail units guarantees continued delivery of the standard family basket for the months of March and April."

Criticism of MINCIN: basic basket

Criticism of Cuba's Ministry of Domestic Trade is mounting on social media. The discontent over the delay in food deliveries is evident. Recently, several users have commented on the institution's typical May Day posts.

“Please provide the basic food basket,” wrote M. Rodríguez. “You owe rice for March and April, and practically for May too, because the month is almost over. We're going to die, for God's sake,” opined another Cuban.

“They call a little bit of rice a basic food basket,” commented a person from Pinar del Río. However, they received a response from another user who called those complaining “ungrateful.” “Despite the efforts we make, everyone wants to keep getting it through the little channel, right from the breast. Didn't the ungrateful people want openness? Well, buy from the private sector, they have everything at good prices,” he stated.

  1. Let's not compare ourselves with other countries, because most of us have never traveled outside the country and we know what the news tells us. The country's situation is getting tougher. Salaries and checkbooks aren't enough, which is why most Cubans have to wait for what comes through the canal because the income is so low.

  2. What's left of the Revolution is that basket, they can't even guarantee that, without rice, without sugar, without oil, without coffee, and now without bread, that ration book practically doesn't exist, the people are starving, a massive social uprising could happen at any moment.

  3. I don't understand why if the products are for those over 65, when you go to receive them they don't give them to you because in the ration book you still appear as 64, throughout the year you don't receive anything for that concept, however, when the product is going to be suspended for reaching the age limit you are automatically excluded from the benefit, as in the case of children and the milk they receive up to 7 years old that is suspended on the same day of their birthday, however the book continues with the same age, that is, 6 years until the end of the year. How difficult it is to understand some things, although a justification always appears, what a shame.

  4. For him or her, he or she said that we are ungrateful for complaining about the little thing they bring. He or she surely receives remittances. It is true that what they give is not enough for one day. Nobody can live on that. So, they should take away the ration book and lower the prices because nobody can live on those prices.

  5. You know it bothers me a lot.cucI have to read certain comments from people who criticize when a person demands their rights, nobody is asking for anything for free because what comes to the store has to be paid for, someone answer my question... where is there a market in Cuba where one can go freely to buy food to consume? Gentlemen, be empathetic and do not criticize the situation in Cuba so much, another for retirees is very difficult, depressing, you can say there is nothing, everything is super expensive and with a checkbook that costs 1500 you don't buy anything, 5 pounds of rice to the individual who sells it and 250 is 1250 which is left to buy the rest, the 1st necessity, surely those who criticize are young or they send remittances from abroad, gentlemen, there is no worse blind person than the one who does not want to see, please...

  6. They don't like criticism, if they fulfilled the few products they give for errands because that is not a basket and even less basic, tomorrow the month ends and rice is conspicuous by its absence and tomorrow transportation will be paralyzed for the May 1st parade, this means that we will eat the rice from April in May, if there were no fuel, but stop eating to show the world the parade, believe me, I do not understand.
God bless the people of Cuba. Blessings

  8. I'll just say one thing: those who say they agree with everything do so because they truly feel it or because they're being sent aid; because that's how it is, it's very easy to have an opinion. Many families are dying of hunger, and by acknowledging that, we don't stop being Cubans; we're simply human.

  9. Hello, why give an opinion if it's worthless? The government ignores people's opinions. Donations of rice, the public doesn't see it, and thousands of products like that. Yes, this country is one of those micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that sell cheap goods. Take away the piece of paper they call a ration book. The country with the most educated people is already the most miserable in terms of quality of life.
