CUPET guarantees stability in the supply of liquefied gas with the entry of new vessels

The Cuba Petroleum Union (CUPET) ensures that conditions exist for a stable distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) throughout the country, thanks to the arrival of new fuel ships and the national logistics already in place.

So what confirmed Engineer Irenaldo Pérez Cardoso, deputy director of CUPET, in statements offered to the Cuban News Channel.

"We have fuel, liquefied gas, already on some vessels we have here in national waters. This ship is ready to begin unloading once all the funds for each of these vessels are paid."

According to the company, it has prepared the necessary infrastructure to ensure that, once the ships dock, the fuel reaches consumers quickly and efficiently. 

"Today CUPET has created in each of its bases, both in the eastern region and in the western region and part of the center as well, the conditions to receive this liquefied gas and begin, as soon as the ship docks, in 48 hours we would be distributing directly to the population," he pointed out.

Sale of liquefied gas only in Cuban pesos

Furthermore, Pérez Cardoso reiterated that all LPG distribution currently taking place in the retail market and the private sector remains in the national currency, as officially established.

According to the state report, this "effort" is part of a national strategy to stabilize domestic fuel delivery after weeks of supply tensions.

The executive added that domestic production also contributes to this stability. In addition to the production from the Cienfuegos refinery, there is also input from the Energás Puerto Escondido plant, thus strengthening reserves and allowing for broader coverage throughout the country.

In general, the authorities of CUPET They expressed confidence that, with the arrival of these shipments and the available technical support, the country will be able to maintain a sustained supply of LPG in the coming weeks, especially for priority sectors and the general population.
