In this regard, you should know that Cuban Customs has intensified its surveillance at airports, and those entering or leaving with US dollars (USD), euros (EUR), Canadian dollars (CAD), and even Cuban pesos, the local currency that is also subject to regulations, should be fully aware of the rules.

Official regulations of the Central Bank of Cuba (BCC)

According to Resolution No. 124/2020 of the Central Bank of Cuba (BCC), travelers may enter or leave the country freely with foreign currency, as long as it does not exceed US$5,000 or its equivalent in other currencies. If the amount is higher, it must be declared to the General Customs of the Republic, detailing the origin and destination of the money. Additionally, exporting amounts exceeding US$5,000 requires special authorization from the president of the Central Bank of Cuba, who may request additional documentation to justify the movement of funds.

These regulations directly affect Cubans living abroad, one of the main segments of visitors to the island. Many of them, especially from Miami, often bring remittances and financial aid for their loved ones.

The maximum amount you can enter Cuba without having to declare is 5,000 US dollars.

In recent years, there have been reports of travelers who, through ignorance or carelessness, have brought in or taken out of the country amounts exceeding the permitted amount without declaring them. This has led to delays, interrogations, and, in some cases, the total loss of the money.

For your information, from Miami and any other point of origin, the maximum amount you can bring into Cuba without declaring is $5,000 or its equivalent in other currencies. If you carry more, you must file a declaration with Cuban Customs, and if you export larger amounts, you must obtain special authorization.

  1. It is incomprehensible, there is much talk about suitability, but what is happening with repairs at power plants is beyond words. How can a sector be assessed where wages were raised, and why was it to improve or worsen the situation? A block is repaired after a scheduled maintenance and less than 24 hours have passed and it is taken out of the system due to breakdowns. Are we witnessing something unusual? Either the activity is not being mastered, or the scheduled maintenance was to patch things up until we see what happens? Can you imagine if that happens to aircraft mechanics, what would be the result? We must not forget that everything has a limited life, and if a plant is designed to work for 25 years, why does its useful life double or even a little more? Why hasn't investment been made in gradually replacing the plants with others of greater capacity and repairing them and having them ready for when the scheduled maintenance arrives or they are taken out due to breakdowns? I already know about the damn blockage. Gentlemen, this town has knowledge, we have commercial relations with China, Russia, India, Canada, Japan, Mexico to name a few and the blessed thermoelectric plants could not be acquired, there is talk of clean renewable energy, how many roofs are there that could install photovoltaic panels and that can solve electrical problems? That is in Japan, Germany, countries larger than Cuba and they have that problem solved, the knowledge and experience of iron generation is being lost and from what can be seen, glass generation is lost in a field of purslane, they patch an elbow and a pipe breaks, they repair a bearing and a brake drum breaks and it can be seen that it is not done with the necessary quality, today we blame the fuel and what happens if all the plants were at 100%, we will turn them off because there is no diesel, please do not play with intelligence, you just do not think and another thing, why are the scheduled blackouts violated, why are there circuits that are affected less than others where it seems like a They mockery of connecting after 8 or 10 hours and they connect it for 1 hour and a half and they take off again without even realizing that they cook and if it is food there is no pro but if it is rice what happens, throw it away if the prices do not go down from 250 and up do not build more hotels and invest in what is really needed we are going downhill and without brakes the people need more actions and less meetings that do not solve anything
