Whether it's a problem of oil theft, a decrease in weight, old raw materials, or the extenders used in its production... The story of the poor quality of bread in Cuba is never ending.
Whitish as in the image sent to our page Directorio Cubano, flip-flop-shaped, with barely a shell, the size of a flash drive… It'd make a headline every day. And it would be boring.
Recently, a Cuban executive's statements about the taste of bread, which the population often describes as "a cuc“aracha”.
Specifically, the production director of the Provincial Food Company in Matanzas, Daniel Yon Aguiar, admitted to the press that there is indignation among the population due to the poor quality of the bread, especially due to its unpleasant smell, which they compare to that of cucspider mites.
On the television program "Con Voz de Pueblo: Bread Production in Matanzas Province" on the Yumurí TV Telecentro, the official addressed these criticisms of the poor quality of bread in Cuba.
No solution in sight for the poor quality of bread in Cuba
Thus, he specified that the situation is due to the use of wheat from state reserves, which is stored in silos that lack the necessary conditions for its quality, aroma, stability, etc.
Then he said the most controversial phrase: “People compare it to cucspiders, but no one has eaten one cuc“Aracha. It’s the smell of aged cereal, and no, it’s not a pleasant smell.”
"“Bread is a monstrosity. Not even a sandwich maker can improve it,” someone told our editor. “I have no choice but to chop it up and toast it, but it’s still disgusting,” another reader added about the poor quality of the bread at the winery in Cuba.

a problem so simple and so complicated
This is not new in 90% of bakeries, the individuals (sellers) have priority since the bread for them has a different quality.
The bread is a mess, and they've reduced the weight, why? And why have they increased the number of private street vendors with sky-high prices? All for a bigger disaster. Poor elementary school children, on top of a terrible lunch. How horrible!
Visit the bakery on Neptuno and Consulado Street and you'll see bread that's good enough for a birthday snack, and they're bringing out large boxes of bread for individuals right in front of everyone's face. There's a tremendous robbery going on there.
