Did you know there's a document called a Border Crossing Card? It's precisely with this card that you can enter the United States without needing a visa stamped in your passport.
As is well known, the United States welcomes hundreds of thousands of people each year. Many travel for tourism, business, or simply to visit family. Mexicans are the leaders in this regard, followed by Canadians.
To facilitate border crossings between the two countries more quickly, U.S. immigration authorities developed the Border Crossing Card (BCC). It has been in operation since May 1998 only for Mexican citizens.
The BCC is also known as the DSP-150. Practically speaking, it functions like a B1/B2 visitor visa. However, unlike a visa, it is issued in card form and boasts improved graphics and technology.
This visa allows you to stay in the country for just 72 hours, as well as restricted travel of 25 miles north of the border in California and Texas. In New Mexico, you can travel 55 miles north of the border, and 75 miles in Arizona.
People eligible to apply for a Border Crossing Card
-The applicant must be a Mexican citizen residing in Mexico.
-The applicant must demonstrate that they have no intention of remaining in the United States and that they will return to Mexico after their visit.
-The applicant must meet all B1/B2 visa eligibility requirements. These include the following:
-Have sufficient financial resources to cover your stay in the United States.
-Have no criminal record or a letter from the authorities stating that you have no previous convictions.
The application process for a BCC is identical to that for a B1 business visa or a B2 tourist visa. You will also need to pay the BCC fee of $160,00 USD.
