The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) was legislation passed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to this legislation and the financial assistance it provides, a local basic income program was implemented.
This has enabled Sacramento families to apply to be one of the 80 homes chosen for the second edition of this local program.
Selected participants will receive monthly payments of $500.00 USD, unconditionally, for 12 months, starting in July of this year.
What requirements must applicants meet?
To be one of the applicants, the first thing you must do is live in Sacramento. However, it's important to know that you must meet the family income requirements.
You can submit an online application, which will be open until 14:11 p.m. on April 59th. Regarding the selection of homes, authorities report that this is a completely random process.
Confirmed homes will be announced at the end of May, and payments could begin in July.
The most important thing is that you live within the Sacramento city limits, and that you earn less than a certain amount per year.
Below, we provide you with the different income levels in the city of Sacramento. For an adult, the amount is $28 USD. For an adult with one child, it would be $205.00 USD, and for an adult with two children, $49 USD.
