Luis Rodríguez Vargas, technical director of the Havana Electric Company, explained to the press that rising temperatures have generated an increase of up to 10% in electricity consumption compared to the same period in 2024.

This sudden growth in demand has caused a rise in the number of faulty distribution transformers and hence, said, the increase in the number of blackouts in Havana in recent days.

"These breakdowns require more time to repair due to the lack of available resources," said Rodríguez Vargas, who also noted that this situation limits the country's ability to sustain the planned electricity generation.

  1. What I would like to know is why the same circuits and blocks are always affected in the 4th, which is too many, and in Cojimar a large number of people are not relieved because of some containers that are there by the fence and the polyclinic supposedly. I ask, is it not possible to rotate one week for some and another for the others because we don't have gas, we have to do everything with the current and we almost never have it, and also almost every day at night and in the early morning. I also think that the problem in the country is for everyone, not just a few.

  2. What a lack of respect to other people from other provinces of the country, for example Cienfuegos where there are up to 30 hours of blackout without planning, they take it away and put it on as they please, only 3 or 4 hours of electricity a day, the same at dawn, if that's the case, you have to get up and cook, turn on the turbine, wash, do everything you need every day and then go to work with your best smile, how long will the abuse of the Cuban people continue? And look at the way they talk about Havana as if Havana was only all of Cuba, what a lack of respect, nobody cares about anything anymore, they only think about Havana, the rest of us could die, abusers, that's what they are.
